🚨 TEMP FOSTER NEEDED from 8/7 - 8/17 🚨

Chalet made her grand debut in NYC on Saturday after spending the last 8 months in the vet’s office in Georgia recovering from a severe leg injury. A wonderful foster stepped up to take her, but unfortunately, they will be away from 8/7 - 8/17, so she needs a place to stay!

Chalet’s fosters lovingly refer to her as “Coney” as she is still wearing her cone as her leg heals, but it has not slowed her down! This girl is as sweet as they come, and you can tell how grateful she is to be in a safe place! 🥰

Hi! My name is Bear, and I really need a place to stay while my foster mom goes on a trip! I am playful and affectionate, and it takes me almost no time at all to warm up to new people! A few of my favorite things are chin scratches, my bird toy, and making biscuits! 🥰

Can I please come stay with you while my foster mom is away? I can guarantee that I will be a good boy, but I can’t guarantee that you won’t fall in love with me! 😉

Happy Friday from White Socks! 🥰

This adorable tuxedo boy is approximately two years old and has been waiting for his forever home for quite a while! He loves to bask in the sun or cuddle up on his favorite blanket (see below!). He is very patient with children, but kind of freaked out by cat toys! 🤔

White Socks can by shy around new people, but will quickly warm up once he determines his favorite one and will jump into their lap for cuddles! White Socks is FIV+, but is doing well and can live happily with other gentle cats, so don’t let that deter you! 🐱

🎉 It’s the Summer of Love at SCR! To celebrate, all cat (and dog!) adoptions are just $100 until July 14th 🎉

Remember that all of our animals come fully vetted, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and microchip! This small fee helps us try to recoup some of these costs, so we can continue to rescue more animals in need! 🥰

🚨 SEEKING FOSTERS 🚨

For those that follow multiple rescues, you are probably aware that we are all really struggling 😞 We receive many pleas each day, but have been forced to turn them down as we simply do not have a place for the cats to go. Our rescue center is bursting at the seams, and adoptions have been few and far between, so even our foster homes are full. If you have ever considered fostering, now is really the time! These cats need you 🙏🏼

Siblings Mojito and Mimosa are 14-week-old siblings who we hope can find a foster home together. Both are very sweet, playful, and fun! 🥰

Second Chance Rescue NYC’s mission is to reduce animal overpopulation in shelters, rescue and rehabilitate critically injured and neglected animals, and connect the community to services that enable animals to remain in their homes. Utilizing an integrated approach to rescue and recovery, we leverage all possible paths to healing according to each pet’s specific needs and do our best every day to raise awareness surrounding animal equality, adoption education, and animal rights and welfare. We are just ordinary people taking extraordinary measures to save these treasured pets and in return, having our lives forever changed by each and every one of these amazing animals.
