Who do we use/recommend for training? The Logical Dog is our only answer!
I’m overdue for an intro post, so here we go!
Hi🙋🏼♀️ I’m Emily! My passion for animal welfare and training began with horses, but I quickly realized that my life purpose was with dogs in my early teens.
🐾As a young service dog handler trying to find her way in the world, I was absolutely inundated with conflicting information and opinions about dogs and how to train them.
What is all this interchangeable terminology?
Are some tools “bad”?
What exactly makes a dog “trained” or not?
Who should I actually take advice from on social media?
It was all SO confusing. I’m sure everyone out there with a dog can relate. A simple internet search pulls you in 1000 different directions. It can jumble your brain, leaving you AND your dog confused.
🐾I spent years training full-time while apprenticing under various mentors of different methodologies and systems. When my seizures and mental health disabilities improved, I dove into dog sports, hungry for a new flavor of Dog-Human Teamwork. Each experience taught me something new, and I am so so grateful that I had a bit of a charcuterie board start in the industry.
🐾My heart has always stayed exactly where I began: Wanting to give nothing but my absolute best to the dogs that literally saved my life countless times.
🐾That’s why I started The Logical Dog ℠. I have been the dog owner feeling alone and conflicted. I have been the problematic end of the leash. I have been the confused student, not sure how to actually apply concepts and implement training exercises into my every day life with the dog I had in front of me. I wanted to offer canine care and training that’s truly LOGICAL, and makes sense for everyone involved.
🐾What excites me the most about being a one-woman show, is the wholistic approach to dogs (Training is a balance of canine Mind, Body, & Spirit, so much more than just “Commands”) and complete flexibility I can offer my students.
Don’t want to send your dog away for a board & train? Cool, I offer Day School and In-Home Coaching.
You’re not comfortable using an e-collar? Works for me, I have lots of ideas for alternatives.
You want to get nerdy and learn how to DIY your journey with your dog? SWEET! Let’s pop some popcorn and sit our butts down in front of a whiteboard for some classroom-style education. Then, you can practice with my own dogs!
Busy schedule? I LOVE doing all the up-front repetitive work of training, we can get your dog to an advanced level where all you have to do is upkeep and maintain.
On a budget? Man, I feel you. I don’t even advertise pricing because everything is entirely customized based on your dog, location, goals, and how much work YOU do at home when I’m not there.
Your dog is already perfect, except for nail trims? Love to hear it! Cooperative Care is super fun and rewarding for everyone involved.
🐾My goal is to be the trainer I wish I had as a young girl with her first dog. I won’t just be your dog’s trainer, I’ll be your coach and biggest cheerleader too.
