Before the first cbg madness festival, I had a booth at the Maine Blues fest in Naples... there i got to start my friendship with Al of Fat Knuckle Freddy.... He played one of my early builds that fit him well. He has been a mainstay at just about every event since then, and he will be tearing it up again this july 19th at the The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 197 Westbrook, ME in this year CBG madness event!

CBG Madness was born in Nov 2019. Memphis Lightning playing at Lenny's.... Darren had been playing a cbg at every show i could get to for over a year... Here we had decided to do a complete set with them. When he saw them lined up on stage he said " this is CBG Madness" so an idea was born! The first event ..scheduled to be at the The Frog and Turtle ... a gastro pub got wiped out due to covid ...but we have had 6 events since then and now on july 19th at the The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 197 Westbrook, ME we will be doing it again.

So a couple of years ago I saw Alejandro Graciano at the park doing a solo looping show...I stayed and listened and when he started talking influences I was surprised to hear him say Malian desert bluesman Ali Farka Toure... I didnt know of anyone but me who even knew of him... someone i listened to back in the day when i was going off the mainstream with Verlaine, Thompson, Fripp.etc.. so i told him one day he'd have to do a cbg thing...well that day is coming @ CBG Madness 2025 july 19th at the The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 197 Westbrook, ME.. a bit of looping with cbg's in the mix! this will be new and different i suspect.

So Michael Young is back in Maine, He stopped by and i got him to be one of the "cast of characters" who will play a solo mini set at this years CBG madness.. Michael with his band played the first two madness events back in the day... Its awesome to have him back on stage with us july 19th at the The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 197 Westbrook, ME Here he is messing around with a 2x4 build out. He will come up with something cool no doubt. The other video was from the madness in 2020

So tomorrow on Super Bowl eve my grandsons football booster group is having a fundraiser where all kinds of cool stuff is being auctioned off to raise some cash.. of course i made a cbg for it. so here are some photos of the making of it.
