We focus on preserving animals listed with The Livestock Conservancy while sustaining high quality, humanely raised meat and produce.

🐰 Iron Wolf Manor Easter Edition 🐰

We had a very clear, very wholesome vision for Easter photos…

And then there was ✨this✨

• One judgmental basket bunny
• Wrapped like a suspiciously fluffy burrito
• Under lighting that feels mildly illegal
• Absolutely zero interest in participating

Honestly? Nailed it.

We finally finished the rabbit hutch today and Morticia hatched a beautiful new baby❤️ She has 4 more eggs left to hopefully hatch. 2 had pipped today so hoping for some new little chirps to greet me in the morning!

We had the absolute best last 48 hours with the dearest old homeschool friends we’ve know for almost a DECADE and some new friends we just met this week. With their help Warrenhold rabbit kingdom is ALMOST open for occupancy. We just need doors, trim and roof panels for the cage hutch and to finish installing the fence for their daytime forage and playyard!

🐰 Warrenhold Chronicles: The Build That Tried Me 🛠️😂

This was supposed to be a “quick little rabbit hutch.”

You know… a weekend project.
Simple. Clean. Done.

Cue inconsistent lumber sizes, bowed boards with attitude, a storm that said “not today,” and me learning in real time that trim is not just ✨decorative✨… it adds depth… and consequences 😅

There were redesigns.
There was side-eye.
There may have been a few “are you KIDDING me” moments directed at perfectly innocent pieces of wood.

But…

We pivoted. We adapted. We overcame.

And now?
Warrenhold is finally coming together exactly how it should have been from the start—sturdy, clean, and built to last.

The buns move into their permanent home THIS WEEK 🙌
…and the dining room is officially being evicted from barnyard status 😂

Sometimes the chaos builds it better.

I used to think birthdays were supposed to look a certain way.

Big plans.
Celebrations.
Something… louder.

But this year?

This is what it looks like.

Eggs on the counter from animals we raise.
Garden beds going in with our own hands.
A little pig, content and safe, eating his dinner.
Chickens scratching through the grass, doing exactly what they were meant to do.
My kids right beside me—learning, laughing, building this life with me.

There’s dirt under my nails.
There’s unfinished projects everywhere.
There’s still so much left to do.

But for the first time in a long time…
there’s a deep, steady kind of peace in it.

Because this isn’t just a birthday.

This is the life we’re building.
Slowly. Intentionally. Together.

Iron Wolf Manor isn’t some far-off dream anymore.
It’s here—in the small moments, the hard work, the muddy boots, and the quiet wins.

And honestly?
I’ve never felt more grounded.

Here’s to another year of growing something real 🖤🌿

Our expansion projects have been put on hold today. We are in storm clean up/ repair mode right now. All living creatures are thankfully safe and accounted for!!

Here is a quick update on the homestead happenings. So much is happening simultaneously here!

The chick brooder is 2 weeks away from eviction notice.

The rabbit hutch is under final construction this week and rabbits will be evicted from the dining room barnyard nursery then.

The pigs are getting a new addition in the next few weeks. He will be our future breeding boar.

The chicken run was expanded this past week. And Morticia our zombie hen went full broody murder hen so she was given a clutch of hatching eggs to brood raise!

The feed shed is getting a facelift and our garden beds are arriving so they are being installed and prepped for spring planting this week!!

Hey everyone! Meet Elvis the (hopefully) new king of the coop. He’s isolated in quarantine for a couple weeks to make sure we don’t introduce anything to the rest of the flock and to give him time to decompress before disrupting the hen house.

Lumber is being cut sealed and painted, cages are being cut and assembled, the grazing runs are being carefully curated and the eviction notice from the dining room barnyard nursery is being issued as a fully functional closed system rabbit ecosystem is emerging! Stay tuned as we prepare to officially open “Warrenhold” our meat rabbit section of the homestead!
