🐾 Adoptable Spotlight: Thor 💙

Meet Thor! This handsome guy has been hanging out with us for 233 days, and we’re honestly so surprised he’s still here.

Thor is: sweet, smart, easygoing, and always happy to spend time with his people. He knows his manners, sits politely for treats, and loves to learn. In training classes he’s been a superstar student, and volunteers love taking him out because he’s such a pleasure to be around.

He’s got a nice, moderate energy level and would be just as happy joining you for an adventure as he would be relaxing on the couch next to you at the end of the day. Thor also gets along well with other dogs!

One volunteer described him as “a hunk of love you didn’t know you were missing,” and honestly, we couldn’t have said it better ourselves. ❤️

Palm Beach County Public Safety Department Animal Care and Control Division (PBCACC) will be hosting a public comment session regarding changes to Palm Beach County Code Chapter 4: ANIMALS.

Interested Palm Beach County community members are invited to review the proposed changes to the county ordinances and make their voices heard by those making these changes.

When: Tuesday, June 16th from 6-8pm and Saturday, July 11th from 10am-12pm.

Where: Vista Center Room 47-50, 2300 N Jog Rd., West Palm Beach

Those who are unable to attend in person can view the meetings live on Channel 20.

Senior Sunday Spotlight: Trixi 🐶☀️💛

Trixi came to the shelter after her previous owner was no longer able to care for her. At 8 years old, this sweet girl is proof that age is just a number! ❤️

Trixi has hypothyroidism, which is a manageable condition that requires medication, but that doesn't slow her down one bit. She’s still a total ball of sunshine who loves being around people and brightening everyone's day. ☀️🐾

In fact, one of Trixi’s previous foster families described her as "the best foster they’ve ever had"; and once you meet her, it’s easy to see why. 💕

If you're looking for a loyal girl with a heart full of love, Trixi is ready to make your home a little brighter.

Pie is a sweet, affectionate girl who's still getting used to shelter life. Once Pie realizes you're a friend, she enjoys attention and has a gentle, loving personality that's impossible to ignore. She just needs someone willing to give her a little time and understanding while she settles in.

Happy Tails: Shelby (formerly Shay)🐾💗

Five months ago, Shelby found her forever family, and what a perfect match it was!

After recently losing one of their sweet dogs Isabella, Shelby's adopters came to the shelter hoping to welcome an adult dog into their home. They had several dogs in mind, but Shelby had other plans. ❤️

As soon as she saw them, she ran right up to say hello, and an instant connection was made.

Now, five months later, Shelby has grown into a beautiful girl who has truly come out of her shell. The nervous, timid puppy she had been was replaced by a happy, confident dog!

She's also gained a bestie in her brother, Brando. The two are absolutely obsessed with each other and do just about everything side by side.

We love hearing stories like Shelby's and seeing just how much our shelter pets thrive once they find the right home. Thank you to her wonderful family for giving her the second chance she deserved! 🐶💗
