Last year I got a call from Jill Robinson desperate for help for a pregnant cat that had been abandoned by her owners when they moved from Jill’s apartment complex. I was way over capacity, and initially told Jill I was just too overwhelmed at the time to take in a pregnant cat. The longer our conversation went on, I heard the desperation in Jill’s voice and decided to help. Jill named the pregnant cat Gracie, and Gracie only trusted Jill. Before we could get Gracie trapped (she was too skittish to just pick up) she disappeared. We knew she had gone somewhere to have her kittens. Jill searched for Gracie and her kittens daily and I would go and help in the evenings. Finally after 3 weeks Gracie’s kittens were found in an outdoor laundry room and I picked them and Gracie up from Jill. Jill and I kept in contact and Jill adopted 2 kittens from me a few months later. Jill was an amazing cat mom and she fed and helped every cat she could around her apartment. I received a message from Jill’s sister, Julie Robinson Bowe, a couple weeks ago saying Jill had passed away and she needed help with homes for Jill’s cats. I was so sad and shocked to hear about Jill’s passing. Julie and her family have worked tirelessly taking care of everything from cleaning out Jill’s apartment, her memorial service, etc. I am honored that Julie asked for donations for my rescue in memory of Jill! Thank you to Dianne Walker, Carol N Steve Dark, and Jill’s sister, Julie, for their donations in Jill’s honor. It was a privilege to know Jill and call her my friend. Please pray for Jill’s family.
