๐ฃโWeโve got some ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ for youโ๐ฃ Saturday is the start of the largest adoption event in the country, which is supported by Best Friends Animal Society, community partner Fetch Pet Insurance, and national nonprofit Petco Love, and we canโt wait to find families for the 1,000+ homeless pets that will be in attendance. ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: The weather is looking sunny and warm. Be sure to dress for the weather, and donโt forget sunscreen, as the line will stretch outside. Also, water, water water. Be sure to bring water to stay hydrated while you wait.

๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐: Check-in at the registration table for 8:30 am-10:00 am entry. Bring your ID that matches the name on the ticket purchase. Each pass is good for one adoption per family; the $35 adoption fee is additional. (Passes are sold out.)
๐พ ๐๐๐๐๐: There typically is a line to enter much of Saturday and early Sunday. We let people enter in groups for the safety of the animals and to support the adoption process. There will be an indoor waiting area, but likely the line will stretch outdoors, so dress for the weather and remember to bring water and a folding chair if you are unable to stand for extended periods of time.
๐พ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: Adoptions are on a first-come basis to a matching family, and there are no holds. You can meet up to 3 dogs, but there are no holds during the meet time, so we can give each pet as much opportunity as possible to go home. All adoption paperwork is done on-site at our location; there are no advance application steps.
๐พ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: Many of the pets joining the event will be new arrivals that wonโt be on the website until they reach the adoption floor on Saturday or Sunday. There will also be a delay in updating the website to reflect adoptions. In addition, we're the host shelter, but we also have other shelters participating. Your best chance to see the adoptables is to come to the event.
๐พ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐: Bring everyone in the family to participate in the decision, and have your ID and payment method for the $35 adoption fee with a major credit card. For cats, youโre welcome to bring a carrier, or we'll have cardboard carriers. For dogs, you can bring a leash and collar or purchase a set on-site.
๐พ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: Thereโs a dedicated volunteer check-in area. All volunteers need to be signed up in advance. Volunteers who want to adopt need to do so after their volunteer shift and through the standard adoption process.
๐พ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: There is ample free parking. That includes accessible parking spaces, but if you arenโt able to find an accessible spot, please ask for assistance.
๐พ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: Our adoption centers will be CLOSED TOMORROW (Friday, June 19) until Monday, June 22. We will resume regular adoption center hours on Tuesday, June 23, after Mega. However, our Brandywine Valley SPCA - Washington, DC locations and the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area will be OPEN Saturday and Sunday.
