We are committed to using positive reinforcement training to create a peaceful home environment between you and your dog. She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed, a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), a certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and an Instructor for the DOG B.O.N.E.S. Michaela takes continuing education very seriously and has atte

nded seminars in the dog education field with Dr. Ian Dunbar, Dr. Nicholas Dodman, Emma Parsons, and Sue Steinberg. She also attended Karen Pryor’s Clicker Expo. Positive reinforcement training is the best way to create a peaceful home environment. In a force-free environment a reward based system is used to promote good behaviors. It is one of the most powerful tools to shape and change unwanted behavior. Group classes are designed to establish the foundation of basic manners and increase the level of difficulty to facilitate off leash obedience. Private training is tailored to address behavioral issues including separation anxiety, resource guarding, leash reactivity, bringing baby home, and facilitating positive relationships between children and dogs.

Congratulations to these Intermediate II Graduates! 🎓 Some for the first time, some who skipped a grade, some who came back for more. There is something special about Intermediate II, it’s the “least structured” of our obedience classes. We aren’t necessarily teaching “new cues” although I will always sneak fun in there, but it’s years of training and looking at each dog and thinking “this is what you need” and organizing the class as such - with more DISTANCE, DURATION, and DISTRACTIONS. It’s always a fun class to come back to!🎓

These brave pups and their families battled the elements to join us for our latest Out & About at War Memorial Park! We had fun exploring the Town River (and Bosco gave us all a scare when he decided it was nice enough to go for a swim 😂) and went rock wall climbing while practicing our Canine Good Citizen skills walking past others and showing off polite greetings! These upbeat attitudes kept us warm and “sort of” dry! ☀️😊🤩🐾

Spring time is here and it’s the perfect time to get your pup into training!🌼

We have two classes starting tomorrow held at A Dogs Day Away in Holbrook with a few spots left.

Puppy preschool gets you off on the right foot with your puppy, socialization is so important, and training is so much fun! Pups 10 weeks to 5 months of age are welcome to join and only need their second round of vaccinations🐶
