Good and bad news

Anyone who rescues animals will tell you it isn't easy. It isn't easy on the heart. It isn't easy on the body and mind and it isn't easy on your wallet.

If you have an innate desire to help animals, you do everything in your power to give that animal the life they deserve. You will take in the helpless, the unwanted without any planning or selection. You will buy food with your last dime. You will fall in love over and over again and cry just as much.

You'll question yourself and the world. You'll fall down and get back up. You'll learn to trust a little less and fight a little harder. You'll fail, you'll succeed and you'll learn to accept. You'll learn when to hold on and when to let go.

It's a constant battle. There will be times you wonder if it's worth it. Those are the times when you just need to stop and look around at what you've accomplished. Look into the eyes of those you've helped and actually see the difference that you made, the hope you have given to those who had none and the lives you saved who would have otherwise been discarded. You have given them something no one else cared to do and that is worth every moment of struggle, every moment of worry, doubt and pain.

Rescue isn't easy but it's worth it because they are worth it. ❤
