I was telling some deputies on Monday about what great police dogs they make. They have shown outstanding results in narcotics operations as well as other operations.
Last night, at 10:15 PM, our beloved police dog Kiah took her last breath, leaving us with unbearable grief. Just 24 hours prior, she was radiating joy, and her sudden departure has left us reeling.
We noticed Kiah's breathing was labored, but we attributed it to the heat. Tragically, she was suffering from congestive heart failure. Despite administering the prescribed medication, her condition rapidly deteriorated, and she slipped into respiratory distress. The agonizing decision to let her go was made with heavy hearts.
Fourteen incredible years with Kiah flew by in the blink of an eye. It was far too short a time to cherish her loving companionship. Our hearts are shattered into a million pieces.
Rest peacefully, dear Kiah. Your pawprint on our hearts will forever remain, a testament to the unconditional love and devotion you embodied. Your memory will continue to inspire us, and we will miss you deeply until we meet again.
