Saturday knowledge 💣 :
Anytime I have an athlete underperform My first question to them is “Have you done everything you can?” This is often met with a blank reaction. Is this to say practicing and competing is not enough? Not necessarily but practice and competition only last a few hours. What are some things you can do all the time to be a better athlete?
Here’s some ideas:
Treat yourself like an athlete: Do top athletes have poor sleep habits? Do they live on candy? Most likely not. They sleep 8-10 hours/night, and they follow a balanced diet that works for them. Water, good carbs, good fats, lean proteins, fruits and vegetables are not rocket science 🧪.
Strength & Conditioning: Talent only goes so far. That’s the hard truth. No matter how talented you are- you can always be stronger, more fit, and more balanced. S&C with an experienced coach helps
fill in any holes in your physique, gets your strong and performing at your top level. 💪
Watch your sport: watch your fellow athletes - learn about what they do to be successful. 👀
Visualization: This is essentially the process of playing your sport in your head. Run through scenarios, go over what you do well, and what you do poorly. Visualize yourself performing tasks you would do and how they feel. 🧠
At the end of the day if you step into your arena knowing you have done EVERYTHING you can to be successful that leaves no question that you’re ready to perform, and ready to win. 🏆
