Hi WRS friends,
It’s been a while since we’ve posted, but we’re still here and still “running shop” as usual. We do have some upcoming changes that we’d like you to be aware of.
Alyssa has moved to the DFW area. We, including our pups, are missing her like crazy! Kali, who helps us out when she’s home on break, is fixing to go back to school in Tyler. I, Andi, will be starting a full-time job soon but will continue managing the administrative part of the organization and working at the shelter when I can. We have 2 others who will continue helping at the shelter, but they also have other jobs. Finally, we have someone who is going to pick up shifts as needed.
With that being said, we ask for your patience as we navigate through these changes and get settled into a comfortable routine. For the time being, we won’t be taking any owner surrenders or any litters of puppies. We can help by reaching out to other rescues, but we cannot take them until we get good and settled with all the new changes. Also, we still do not take cats as we have no way to care for them and no resources to work with.
A few things we will need help with are vet visits (taking the dogs to and from the vet in Clarendon), and possibly future transports. We ALWAYS need food! And we still take donations for vet care, food, flea and tick preventatives, water and electric bills, etc.
Finally, if you’re interested in volunteering, please reach out! We need you more than ever right now! Send a text or leave a voicemail if you can’t reach me, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
