Despite the Arctic cold air and snow spoiling our regular lesson schedule, we decided to make the most of the bad weather and attended the obstacles. It was a lot of fun! Riders got to challenge themselves, our horses, and their leadership with our horses. I am so proud of our everyone, but especially our unicorns πŸ¦„. They each stepped right up to accept the challenge. I think some of them had more fun than we did πŸ˜‚ lmao Pippi pony was cruisin around all of it. We even brought our newest unicorn in the making, Sadie, which for being only post race track 2 weeks, did absolutely phenomenal. She’s gotta get used to our crazy circus πŸŽͺ at some point haha why not now! Last clips are of her walking in to all this weird stuff in a new place. Amazing πŸ₯°πŸ¦„

We welcomed Sadie to her new home/new life the other day! We picked her up right off the race track. We are letting her take some down time and settle in before we get to work.
I have to thank and congraduate my sister, Jamie, who took the leap and purchased this big sweet gorgeous mare!!!! There are some happy smiles goin on around here (πŸ˜† cuz everyone still was very much missing our Granny Miss Linda who is very comfy and happy in her new peaceful retirement barn btw)! It’s always so exciting to play around with a new horse, let alone one so pretty and sweet. Just love her demeanor so far. Anyway, looking forward to see what’s to come!!

What a fun week with our first summer camp!! Some topics and activities included:
πŸ‡ Riding; with and without stirrups, ba****ck, along with a scenic trail ride and scavenger hunt
🧽 Bathing, Grooming, and Care; what products and tools we can use and how to use them along with feeding grain, supplements, medicine, wrapping bandages, polos, and putting boots and blankets on.
🦴 Horse anatomy; they had to guess where parts of the horse are and paint it.
🎨 Arts and crafts; they got small Breyer horses and real horse shoes to paint. Some makeup and hair on the 1 rainy day (ty Christy!)
🏝️ Arena maintenance; took an around on the Ranger to drag the arena after picking up jumps and any messes the horses made.
πŸ‘Ή Horse psychology; we got to see how a horse reacts to something scary that they’ve never seen before and what to do.
🩱Games; swimming, sliding, and splashing! We had a bouncey house water slide that saved us all on the very hot days (ty Gar and Allison!)

πŸ™ I need to give a big huge β€œThank You!” to all of the helpers this week that made this possible!! Evelyn, Will, Christy, my family (mom, Gianna, Jamie, Garrett and Allison) Erika for letting us borrow her wonderful horses, and of course my right hand man, Joni, despite not feeling her best. Thank you!! πŸ™

It was so HoT this weekend πŸ₯΅. But despite the humidity and heat, our girls and ponies did amazing at Oak Lawn Schooling Show!! Everyone was on their best behavior, even when the weather makes that challenging lol. It was easy to get tired and cranky for both the kids and the horses. But we made it thru and made it thru with some great ribbons! Highlights were a couple first places and a second place for each of our lead-liners Riley on Pippi, Ellena on Buddy, Summer on Rosie, and Mia on Lark.

Also thank you Erika for getting up extra early on a Sunday, helping us, and letting us borrow ur wonder pony, Lark
πŸ’•πŸ¦„

Next we had two firsts place ribbons, one 2nd, and one 4th for our walk/trot/canter rider, Sara who was riding Rosie.

Lastly, Evy and Pippi took home the blue πŸ₯‡in the 2’ Hunter derby! That’s our pippi pony!!

Great Job everyone!

May Summer Schooling Series 2025:
We had a couple of first-timers this show! Miss Rosie was naturally such a trooper for our first timers! She took Veronica to Reserve Champ in the walk/trot/canter hunters πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ and Mia got first place in her leadline! She even got paged over to the judges booth to answer a question as part of her class. She got the answer pretty close! I honestly loved that the judge did that, it made both our leadliners feel very special! Couldn’t be more excited and happy for both of our first time show riders!! Veronica has been working hard and riding extra and it has definitely paid off. Well done!!
Pippi Longstocking, well she was just awesome. On her way to becoming that kids short stirrup extraordinaire ….with just a bit more polishing off. Evelyn did fantastic on her, these 2 are just working so well with each other. More progress each day. Again top ribbons in huge classes! Then Rylie rocked her short stirrup on Pippi, Pip took wonderful care of her πŸ’•. Lastly, we had a last minute add to our agenda…. My sister, Jamie, decided to dust off her show coat give it a whirl! She did the warmup class and had only jumped Pippi 3-4 times before this over single jumps. It was her first time doing an actual full course on her …or any horse for that matter…. In about 20 years! Ya never forget that muscle memory! Overall so happy this show! Looking forward to more fun this weekend!
