After much deliberation, a ridiculous number of suggestions, and a whole lot of staring at this sparkly little face… 😍

We chose Mica because it’s unique, has a natural shimmer and sparkle, and it works perfectly whether this little one turns out to be a boy or a girl. And honestly, it seemed like the perfect name for our GFP Golden Albino who is basically made of glitter. 💛✨

This little one is eating like a champ, has sparkles for days, and their GFP absolutely glows under blue light! ✨💚

I still need the perfect androgynous name, though. Some of the suggestions I’ve received so far are Buttersworth, Topaz, Pickle, and Mica.

I’ve been waiting a long time for the perfect GFP Golden Albino with starburst potential, and I’m absolutely over the moon with this little one! 💛✨

I have a separate grow-out tank that’s almost ready to go. I’m just giving the water parameters one last round of monitoring through Sunday before moving them into their new home.

The FrillyGills family has been very busy these last several months, which meant we had to put a pause on posting about our adorable axolotl army.

But we have some exciting news to share… the army is growing! 🎉

Next week, we’ll be welcoming a GFP Starburst Golden Albino to the FrillyGills family! ✨💛💚

This little one’s gender is currently unknown, but regardless of whether we have a king or queen joining us, they will be a possible future breeder! We can’t wait to meet them and introduce them to all of you.

Stay tuned for pictures and updates as we welcome our newest little glow-in-the-dark addition! 💚✨
