Your dog doesnât lose its personality when you introduce accountability. đž
Letâs talk about e-collars.
Somewhere along the way, the conversation around training tools became less about how theyâre used and more about the mere fact that theyâre being used.
But hereâs something worth discussing:
A properly conditioned e-collar is a communication tool. It doesnât teach your dog what to do on its own. It doesnât replace relationship, fulfillment, clarity, or foundational training.
And it certainly isnât supposed to replace your dogâs personality.
Your goofy Labrador can still be goofy.
Your high-drive hunting dog can still explore.
Your independent Husky can still be a Husky.
The goal isnât to eliminate the dog.
The goal is to develop reliable communication while preserving the very things that make that dog who they are.
That means teaching the behavior first, conditioning the tool thoughtfully, working at appropriate levels, and paying attention to the individual dogâs response.
An e-collar isnât a shortcut to training. And like any training tool, improper use can create stress, fear, or behavioral fallout.
But responsible training deserves a conversation rooted in understanding, not assumptions.
At Chasing The Wild, we believe in biological fulfillment, clear communication, and building dogs who can navigate the world with confidence.
Because reliability and freedom shouldnât have to be enemies. đżđş
