HRT K9

HRT K9 Harts' Recovery Team is a nonprofit providing service dogs to Veterans free of charge. Recovery is something that is very important to our family.

Justin is in recovery from PTSD. Being paired with his service dog Lexie changed his life and our family. Providing the same opportunity to other veterans walking that same path is part of maintaining his recovery. We believe that creating a team of one human and one rescue dog walking the road of recovery together offers both the dog and the veteran a better chance of success. It also invites them in to a community of recovery minded people doing life together.

This is Jessie, affectionately nicknamed "Ed" for obvious reasons. Jessie is the kind of friend who will enthusiastically agree to anything you say, give you her undying (and somewhat slobbery) devotion, and remind you of why life is worth living.
