Fellow Breeders & buyers seeking some advice that’s not bias! I’m at a loss and feel terrible.
Puppy goes home with negative f***l, fit for sale certificate, healthy no issues.
5 days later owner goes to vet. “Healthy puppy, f***l negative” gets Bravecto/heartworm
19 days later goes to get vet for UTI. Treats it. Bravecto/heartworm again 😱 Cephalaxin given too.
25 days later compliments good puppy doesn’t note any issues .
30-35 days after going home experiencing some gastro issues. Goes to vet Gives 5 days metro.
Poops get better.
6 weeks leaving- poops bad again. I recommend PCR. They do PCR. Negative. BUT showing spiral bacteria on smear give metro and panacur. EPI testing negative.
Poops get better for 2-3 weeks.
90 days post go home EMERGENCY SURGEY for intussusception.
They pull the dead section of colon for biopsy. Suspects H pylori or possibly allergens recommend further testing. Attached biopsy!
Emergency vet notes that it WILL happen again if they don’t figure out cause of the diarrhea.
Owner doesn’t seem to do any further testing. Checked all vet notes sent. About 40 pages.
About 30 days later it happens again… the surgery is 8000 and the owner cannot afford it so they move forward with putting her to sleep.
Now my contract states replacement puppy for a heredity condition with Vet proof. I got some records not all honestly some seem to be missing. The vet said they only would talk on phone would not agree to put it in writing that this was a congenital condition.
Buyer wants full refund of puppy. I’m asking for something in writing stating what she even had. Not just for my program but for the siblings too. Reply was see you in court basically. I saw notes saying not congenital and mentioned now I cannot get into Google Drive to attach as he locked me out after other vets said they didn’t agree & needed further testing.
Things that cause an Intussusception : Foreign bodies, parasites, infections , or even sudden diet changes which he did 3-4x in the 90 days he had her.
I’m at a loss for words. Anyone deal with Intussusceptions? Any insight.
No siblings have had issues from this pairing! Checked in on everyone. Both parents have had multiple litters without issue. The stud is an outside male and has been used by many kennels.
My repro vet stated this was an issue with diagnosing initial cause and intussusceptions themselves are not congenital. That more testing needed to be done.
