We have two kinds of clients - recurring dog walks which are usually Monday-Friday walks when the owners are at work. A few are 3 or 7 days. The other client is someone on travel who needs sporadic drop-in visits for either their cat or dog. There are also opportunities for overnight sitting at $65 per night
Walks/visits pay $15 per 30 minutes. I run payroll twice a month and payments are direct deposited on the 8th and 23rd of each month. Nothing is "under the table."
Most jobs are in upper NW not by train stations or bus routes. You will be driving from visit to visit. Glover Park, Tenleytown, Palisades, Kent, Burleith, Foxhall neighborhoods. We also have two in Silver Spring and one in Arlington. I try to no longer take them out of my immediate service area.
You must work in all weather and walk in the rain, snow, humidity.
You must clean up all pet messes - p*e, p**p, vomit, anything else. You can't leave these for the client.
Keys are mostly in lockboxes, be sure to return to the lockbox and scramble code.
Some cats/dogs may need medicine or feedings, the instructions are in the app.
