Littermate Separation Training — Why It Matters.

Bringing home two puppies from the same litter can be an exciting and rewarding experience, but it also comes with a unique responsibility.
One of the most important things you can do for their long-term success is intentional separation training.
You’ve probably hear the term “littermate syndrome”. This is when littermates are raised together without structure, they can become overly dependent on each other and it can lead to challenges such as anxiety when separated, difficulty bonding with their owner, reduced confidence, and even behavioral issues like reactivity or sibling conflict as they mature.
To set puppies up for success, it’s essential that each one learns how to function independently. This includes

• Individual crate time
• Separate training sessions
• One-on-one walks and outings
• Time apart to rest and self-soothe

By building confidence in each puppy individually, you’re helping them grow into well-adjusted, stable, and trainable companions. They’ll still enjoy each other’s company—but they won’t need each other to feel secure.
A little extra effort in the beginning makes a lifelong difference! 🤍

We don’t know who is more unsure, Oliver or the puppies? 🤣🤣

First introductions are always done with safety in mind. The puppies are securely in a pen while Oliver is on a runner, allowing them to see and interact without risk.
This method helps build confidence, prevents accidental injury, and sets the foundation for healthy socialization. 🤍

Our babies are finally here! We’re so excited to have them with us. 🥰
