Fixed up Kevin solo tonight after he lost his favorite girl Reba. Kevin is seven years old and part of the original first group of first rescues. So was Reba so it was a heavy hit. I’ll fix the rest of the group up hopefully. Some sort of fungal infection. How they got it I don’t know. exhausted is an understatement. It’s been a rough week.
The transition of summer to winter is always tough on these birds and usually comes with some sort of issues.
Kevin…. My beloved ostrich! lol
Such a good boy, especially in his old age, He even gets along with Neptune roaming free together.
No more flogging you from behind. 🤣

If you lose a bird or a farm animal during the transition of summer to winter, don’t be too hard on yourself. It happens especially when the animals get older and no matter how hard you try. When they’re with us, just give them lots of love and watermelon.❤️
