Lots of you know how much my Mimi inspired me with plants. I remember growing up and coming into her home office and a huge table, of what felt like 100s of African violets, blooming under a big light. When I visited her in May, she had me take quite a few plants that she was no longer able to care for and she wanted to take some off of grandpa’s plate. I brought home her last two African violets, and this is the first one to bloom in my care 🌸
It’s the kids first day of school and all I want to do is send her pictures of their smiling faces as they are headed to a new school year, but seeing the blooms opened today brought me a comfort, like her saying she sees us still 💜
