As I spend time with my pups today, I’m reminded just how quickly time goes by. These little ones are already three weeks old, and it’s amazing to watch them take shape, grow, and begin developing their own individual personalities. We’re excited to continue watching them develop and, over the next couple of weeks, begin introducing them to the foundations of training.

At CCPD, we believe training starts at a very young age. We introduce our puppies to different surfaces, heights, and environments through age-appropriate play on the obstacle course. We also expose them to children early on, helping them develop the social skills they’ll need as they grow. I always say there are three ingredients to making a great dog—and they come in this order: first, genetics; second, environment; third, training. Get those three things right, and you give a puppy the foundation to become an exceptional dog ‼️🐾🇺🇸

As I look upon our new litter of German Shepherd puppies, I’m reminded of the finer things in life. These innocent, fragile little creatures have so much life ahead of them. One of the most gratifying rewards of what I do is watching them graduate from one level to the next—growing from immature puppies into confident, mature, fully trained protection dogs. After 28 years of breeding and training dogs, I’m still learning something new with every litter and every dog that comes through our program.

These little pups bring a smile to my face, even on my worst days. As I watch them grow, explore, and experience the world around them, I’m reminded of how simple their needs really are: food, shelter, comfort, guidance, and a safe environment to grow. There is something incredibly rewarding about watching these innocent puppies develop their confidence, character, work ethic, and abilities over time.

This is one of the reasons I continue to enjoy what I do after all these years. Seeing the complete transformation—from a tiny puppy taking its first steps to a mature, highly trained protection dog—is something that never gets old. And knowing that, at the end of their training, each one will go to a carefully selected forever home where they will become part of a family makes the entire journey even more gratifying. That is what makes this job so rewarding‼️🐾🇺🇸

Genetics First. Everything Else Follows.

In order for us to put a litter together at CCPD, both parents have to prove themselves in the work we do. We look at many factors before making that decision. First and most important is genetic nerves—the foundation of every great working dog. Second, we look at conformation, and third, we look at work ethic, and the ability to perform.

When you breed parents that have proven themselves, their parents have proven themselves, and the genetics behind them are consistently strong, you greatly increase the chances of producing puppies that are solid, stable, and capable of doing the work. We don’t just put a litter together—we plan it carefully, well in advance, with a clear purpose and a long-term goal in mind. Genetic nerves are always the starting point 🐾‼️🇺🇸

The pups are now two weeks Today🐾

We breed our own dogs. We are not wholesalers that import dogs simply to resell them.

“Because we breed and raise our own dogs, we know their entire history—from the day they are born. We know the parents, their temperament, health, drives, and genetics.

That allows us to predict the dog’s personality and suitability for family protection. We’re not relying on someone else’s evaluation or buying dogs we barely know.” ‼️🐾🇺🇸

A true Family Protection Dog is much more than a dog that can bite. The foundation starts with strong genetics, solid nerves, and a stable temperament. The right dog is social, confident, clearheaded, and trustworthy around children, family, friends, and other dogs. It should be comfortable in everyday life, whether you’re walking through a shopping mall, visiting an airport, dining on a patio, or enjoying a family outing. Most importantly, the dog must be completely off-leash obedience trained and under control at all times.

The true beauty of a Family Protection Dog is its ability to wear two different hats. In everyday life, it is calm, balanced, affectionate, and a pleasure to live with. But the moment you or your family are threatened, it instantly becomes a confident and committed protector. That’s what separates a professionally trained Family Protection Dog from an ordinary dog—having the judgment, stability, and courage to protect when called upon, while remaining a safe and trusted member of the family every other moment ‼️🐾🇺🇸

After two years of planning, we’re excited to announce the arrival of eight West German Shepherd puppies. This is the litter we’ve been waiting for, out of Sting and Wullah. We have high expectations for these puppies and look forward to watching them develop over the coming weeks.

Based on the parents, we expect these puppies to have strong nerves, calm and stable temperaments, be easy to handle in everyday life, and possess an excellent work ethic. If you’re looking for a West German Shepherd with the potential to excel as a family companion, working dog, or protection dog, we’d be happy to discuss this litter with you. ‼️🐾🇺🇸
