Circle C Horsemanship

Circle C Horsemanship Specializing in Well-Rounded Foundation training She began working with Pilgrim, a young, green horse at her family’s farm.

Growing up in rural Minnesota, Chloe was riding before she could walk. “My mom started taking riding lessons and got her first horse, Magic, after she married my father. When I was born, she’d put me in the saddle with her, and when it was time for me to go down for a nap, she’d hand me off to my dad,” Chloe says. By the time she was 4, Chloe had joined her mom showing Magic on the Arabian Horse A

ssociation circuit and had a successful show career. “I did everything with him, from western and English showing and trail riding to going in parades and riding around ba****ck with friends,” Chloe says. When she turned 15, she wanted to focus on training horses rather than just showing them. “My trainer made me a great rider and trained my horse to be a great show horse; however, I wanted to learn how to train a horse to get to that point,” Chloe says. Although she was an experienced rider, Chloe realized that when it came to training she needed help. “My mom had Clinton’s old VHS tapes and I started off by studying those,” Chloe says. “Eventually, I got the Fundamentals Series and then the app. I love how easy the Method is to follow and the results you get with it.”

When she started using the Method to train Pilgrim, it wasn’t long before she had a solid partnership established with the gelding. The experience encouraged her to buy young horses, train them and then sell them to good homes. “I’ve worked with a variety of horses over the years, from draft horses to standardbreds to stock horses, and the Method works for every horse, no matter their breed or discipline. Every horse is an individual, of course, so your expectations need to match the horse’s ability, but the Method provides a solid foundation for every horse,” Chloe says. As she gained more experience, Chloe began teaching riding lessons and went on to work at a standardbred racetrack and spent a couple of years as a trail guide in Wyoming. Attending the Academy and teaching the Method professionally were always in the back of her mind but finding the time to take the course never seemed quite right. “When my life came to a fork in 2021, I did a lot of praying and the Academy was the path I chose,” Chloe says. As a Method Ambassador, Chloe is passionate about helping others improve their horsemanship. “I love working with people and watching them improve their skills,” she says. “The Method gives people confidence, as safety is Downunder Horsemanship’s emphasis. I want everyone to experience how much fun horsemanship is and what you can accomplish with your horses when you interact with them in the correct way.”

2 year old stud c**t
One of the more sensitive horses I’ve had the pleasure to work with. But once I gained his respect and trust he became the sweetest lover boy. Sure enjoyed him and excited to watch him become a future roper🤩 **tstarting

“Colt starting” first thoughts are getting the horse rideable. Yes, this is our main goal but how can we ride a horse we can’t touch?..
Everything starts on the ground. Most c**ts don’t come in halter broke. What I consider halter broke is knowing how to come off of halter pressure.
Sometimes this gets confused with knowing how to follow you, until they decide they don’t want to… then you have no control.
This boy, I roped for the first couple days, as I couldn’t walk up to him. Here I’m desensitizing him to my lead rope.
The goal is for him to stand still and relaxed. I do my best to stay in position (45° angle of his shoulder).

The reason I have my hand up between me and him is for a couple reasons; 1. He wanted to cut me off by crossing his head because he wasn’t comfortable with me standing next to him. 2. My safety! This is the biggest and most important thing when working with new unpredictable horses. If he wants to bite, head butt, or strike out at me, my hand is keeping that barrier between us.
If he can’t handle the rope, he definitely can’t handle the saddle. Prepare your horses for success, not failure!

Meet Cinco 💙

This little guy is the product of two of my absolute favorite breeding programs, and I could not be more excited about him.

His mama, Chex Burnin Harley, comes from Jeanne Uherka program, and she has truly been one of the best-minded horses I’ve ever worked with. Our very first ride was a trail ride! Not to mention, she has that stunning, big-bodied build that turns heads everywhere she goes 😍

To complement Harley’s size and incredible mind, I paired her with another favorite program of mine — Diamond K Legacy and Kristan’s gorgeous stud, Too Slick To Shake. He brings the height, athleticism, and speed that perfectly balance Harley’s build and disposition.

The result? This beautiful, long-legged baby boy with SO much s***k already. He’s been running the pasture since the moment he hit the ground and definitely keeps his mama on her toes trying to keep up with him 😂

His name is Cinco, since he made his grand entrance on Cinco de Mayo 🌮✨

I’m beyond excited to watch this boy grow and develop both physically and mentally. I have a feeling he’s going to be something really special.

We had a beautiful morning surprise yesterday. She came to us 4 weeks early so she will be monitored a little extra but mom and baby are both strong and healthy. She already loves her little butt scratches!

So proud of my mare Phoenix, and what she’s accomplished this early season. We wrapped up the Ranch Series Winter Show with the champion buckle, and I couldn’t be happier with her. She’s given me her all every step of the way, and it’s been so fun watching her grow and improve each time we step in the arena. Excited for what’s ahead and grateful for this journey with her. 💛
To top it off, my mom entered her in the walk trot jackpot and came out in first place! Full circle moment watching her show one of my horses after the years and years of me showing her special Arabian.

Spring is officially underway here! The arena and pens have fresh sand, and the horses are definitely enjoying it!

With the beautiful weather, I’ve started spring tune-ups and I’m looking forward to the first set of c**ts arriving in April.

We’ve also made a couple facility upgrades this year, including four new camper hook-up pads and a wash bay. With a few more in the works!

The 2026 training season is now fully booked. I truly feel blessed to work with such amazing clients—thank you all for your continued support and trust in my program. ❤️
