After nearly losing our entire flock of sheep during the fall of 2023 in a brutal dog attack, we realized how much we love raising Icelandic sheep. So we rebuilt our flock and in spring 2024 began milking for the first time. We had long known the many benifits of sheep milk and decided we wanted to share that benefit with others. The easiest way to start doing that that was to hand craft a variety of wonderful sheep milk skin care products including soaps and lotions.
It’s been a little over a year since we created that first batch of soap, and we’re so grateful for our friends, family, and community who have supported us through this journey over the past year. We absolutely love the sheep milk products, and we hope you do too! We are now in the middle of our second milking season and excited to continue to grow!

Icelandic sheep are one of the oldest and purest breeds of sheep and it is believed they were brought to Iceland in the 9th century by the Vikings. Throughout its 1100 years of history, the Icelandic Sheep breed has been treasured for its milk, meat, and fiber.
Milk has been used as a beauty aid for thousands of years, improving a variety of skin problems including redness, acne, wrinkles, and enlarged pores. Milk is a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, exfoliator, pore minimizer, and has even been known to soothe sunburned skin. Sheep milk is superior to other types of milk, such as cow and goat milks, because it has more vitamins, minerals, protein, and a higher butterfat content.
At Licorice Ridge Farm, our mama ewes and their lambs enjoy long days of roaming free together and grazing on our vast pastures. During milking season, we hand milk our ewes just once per day so that our ewes have plenty of milk for their lambs as well. All of our products are hand-crafted by us in small batches with the finest ingredients available. Horse Boarding * Madison County !!!
We have a boarder leaving for college this fall and she will be taking her horse when she goes. So that will leave us with a rare opening for 1 horse that we would like to fill anytime between now and then.

Located approximately 25 minutes from downtown Richmond KY, Licorice Ridge Farm is a family owned and operated farm. We currently has an opening for 1 horse. This beautiful farm is situated on 110 acres in Waco, KY
***Indoor Riding Arena - well lit!!!
***Outdoor Riding Arena
***Round Pen
***Trails, and a 25 acre open field for riding.

Services provided:
- Our spacious turn out pastures all have large shaded run-in barns
-On site Owner/Operator
-Locked gated facility
-Individual horse stall and stall cleaning: Each horse has access to an individual stall for use in inclement weather. When weather permits we keep the herd out in pasture. All bedding and stall cleaning is included. We don’t usually use stalls other than very bad weather or ground conditions. Horses have access to large open barns in the day and night pasture so shelter is something that they always have access to.
-Free grazing on plentiful pastures
- during winter we provide high quality round bales included
-Summer mineral blocks in field
-Storage space for tack and equipment
Board is $450/month
