Part of being a good competitor is knowing your own faults! Today I can genuinely say my head was not in the game and I didn’t step up to the plate for Oz Man. Mental toughness is easy to talk about but applying it to yourself is a different story. Another run under our belts and more for me to learn from. These two girls put in so much work the past week and I am extremely proud of both their accomplishments!

Cora got her pony, Pepper, to lope through the barrels for her on Saturday. Sunday she had to ride a big horse and although she was nervous she handled Burk like a champ and they had a beautiful trot though!
Chloe is getting used to a new horse and those first run jitters get everyone! Saturday she stepped out of her comfort zone and gave it a whirl, they both did good even with a tipped barrel. Sunday we reeled it back in to do some more slow work and fine tuning before their next race.

Good Job girls! It’s been amazing to watch you both grow and learn!

I decided to get our feet wet before Wild West Days in 2 weeks and I’m glad we did! Oz ran an awesome pattern and powerhoused through it, his jockey on the other hand blew a stirrup and rode like a sack of potatoes 😅 Oz got 2nd in the 1D

3 yo AQHA mare by High Cost Of Metal who is out of NCHA earner Dualling for Dollars and by Metallic Cat. Her bottom side goes back to Count Hickory who was a money earning son by Docs hickory and produced several money earners.

This 3 yo mare is 14hh and UTD on vaccines/coggins. She has a great handle on her!! Will W/T/C, sound, and no maintenance. She has be hauled to several sorting events and wants to be cowy. Here’s your daily reminder that it’s okay to kick your horses out to pasture… Every now and then have the thought that horses were not meant to live in a 8x8 box stall or to lope circles everyday in an arena. It’s okay to kick your young or old stock out for a while, let them decompress and be a horse🙌🏼

Love my time spent on this gelding 🤍 There will always be a special place in my pasture and heart for this boy!!!

Joey came back for a week of tune ups! We checked cows, worked on softening back up in the face, did some arena work, and trail rode at the KVR!

Thank you so much Kathleen Schoen for sending him back for a little while! I hope you both enjoy the rest of the summer and get some great rides in this year!

That’s a wrap on my 2025 breeding season 😅 Let me tell you, breeding your own mares is not for the faint of heart. It is expensive, time consuming, mentally/emotionally draining and so much more. We pour our hearts into these horses (and savings😂) to chase a dream.

I have my fingers crossed Tilly has a great heartbeat check in the next few weeks but for now I am glad she checked into foal for 2026🤍

5 rodeos in and 2 checks pulled! Oz placed 2nd in Jefferson WI and 4th in Edgerton WI. We have hung in there with each rodeo, and improving as we figure each other out! Oz is one of the easiest geldings to get along with and I am so grateful for the opportunity to jockey him for a little while 🤍

Oz loves his dac electrolytes from Tammy Harms-Myers! These tubes make it so easy to make sure your horse is staying hydrated on these humid summer days, especially if you lasix!

Thank you Steph Lynn for trusting me with your gelding, he is one in a million ! I can’t wait to see what Chloe and Oz accomplish in the future 🙌🏼
