The moment you bring your new furry friend home. Start teaching rules and creating a routine that works with your schedule. Obedience is a great way to bond and have fun but play is also super important.

Expel energy first and then do short training sessions.

If you are planning on getting a Christmas puppy, please be prepared to hire a trainer as well. You only get one chance to raise them right and the training should start on the day you bring them home.

Crate exit and waiting for calm before releasing. I recorded this video for a client of mine and wanted to share.

Important note: I do not ask for commands here. I wait for her to offer it which most dogs will also try and figure out how to get out so they’ll go through commands and I’ll “reward” the right answer by opening the door but I’m ready to close it if they pop up. Patience is key!

Low level e collar work can be a game changer for you and your dog! I never recommend going cheap on your training tools. And you should seek the help of a trainer who uses the tool at low levels. Cali is typically a level 6 out of 100.

Mini educator is the name of the collar I recommend you use. Again don’t go cheap.
