Our littles love when we mix things up, so yesterday was "watermelon diamonds", devoured within minutes.
I was asked to make a cake for a friend's birthday, and littles asked for scones so we had a baking morning!
Berry cake and scones. Berries from the garden (minus strawberries that haven't come in for us this year)

🐣 **Calling All Curious Families, Homeschoolers & Backyard Quail Enthusiasts!** 🌱

I need your help! This is strictly local to Veneta/Eugene only. Shipping is not an option.

Over the past several months, I've been creating something I'm really excited about—a **Rent-A-Hatch experience** paired with a **21-day Chick Watcher's Hatch Journal** designed to make hatching Coturnix quail educational, engaging, and fun for both kids *and* adults. Perfect for homeschoolers!!

Before I officially launch it, I'd love a few families to beta test the experience.

As a tester, you'll receive:
🥚 A Rent-A-Hatch kit
📖 The Hatch Journal
🎓 Educational activities and lessons
🐣 The opportunity to watch quail hatch right in your home!

In return, I'm asking for your honest feedback.

Not just:

> "I liked it."

I really want to know:
✔️ What was your favorite part?
✔️ What was confusing?
✔️ Which activities did your kids love?
✔️ Which pages did they skip?
✔️ What would make the experience even better?
✔️ Did anything feel too easy, too difficult, or unnecessary?

This isn't about finding people who think it's perfect.

It's about finding families willing to help make it **better** before it officially launches.

Whether you're an experienced homesteader, brand new to hatching, or somewhere in between, your perspective would be incredibly valuable.

If you'd be interested in being one of our test families, comment below or send me a message!

Thank you for helping us build something that encourages curiosity, patience, observation, and a love of learning.

❤️ Every suggestion helps.

Latham Red, Golden and Black raspberries coming in nicely. Cannot wait for the blackberries (thornless chester) and strawberries to come in! Just barely into our season, and 5 minutes of distracted berry picking yielded a bit more than pictured. The bowl didn't escape a minor invasion of toddler hands demanding berry taxes.

Why do you always see the feet first, heart skips a beat, and then you notice the open eyes?? Thanks, Bird!

Who's your biggest melodramatic animal? This year, Juvenile chickens are the worst culprits. That water was empty for less than an hour while cleaning up a little. Placing it down, the mini raptors acted like they hadn't seen any form of hydration in days.

Firstly, I know I have zero self control wit empty incubators. I feel like I need at least one cooking at all times. After impulse purchase of some AH-MAZING chicken eggs, I can't leave the incubator with open space, so I gathered up the Roux Pansy eggs from Southern Biophilliac Urban Farm line and the geek in me couldn't help but run a little weight observation. Of 36 eggs set, 10 are 15 grams. 6 are 16 grams. 12 are 17 grams and 1 is 18 grams. These eggs sit so much higher in the quail rails. Gorgeous weighty birds that lay consistently hefty eggs. Welcome to our staple line because they bring the meat and eggs!
