Talented horse with fox hunting and eventing experience ready for his next home!

Pilot is an exceptional horse who has spent the last two years competing at novice with an adult amateur rider. While he has successfully competed in the eventing world, he does not love the demands of the dressage to move up the levels and his owner loves him too much to force that career on this lovely boy!

Before being purchased to event, Pilot was starting his career as a fox hunter and was thriving in that career. He LOVES to jump outside of the ring, thrives in a group, and is naturally very brave. ( This horse arrived at my farm for consignment- didn’t know us, any of our horses, or our layout/ring and he didn’t look at ANYTHING!)

Pilot is an outstanding XC jumper—brave and confident, and he gives every rider a sense of security over fences. His talent and enthusiasm will make him an absolute joy to ride in the hunt field.

As a 5yr old, Pilot hunted 1/2 a season with New Market and Potomac, and that owner reported that he was quiet, sensible, and really enjoyed the hounds. Unfortunately he arrived too late to North Carolina to get out with Moore County. But he checked all the boxes during his visit to the kennels and a mock hunt. He didn’t pull or rush to the jumps following behind others and also confidently lead a small group around the woods jumping everything we pointed him at!

Pilot is light in the bridle, has three uphill/ comfortable gaits, and a fun personality!
