We have had some issues with people leaving their new fur baby with us for extended amounts of time after they are ready to go. We are very easy to work with here at Whistln’ Rat Terriers and we urge you to communicate any issues that may arise with picking up your new puppy. It is bittersweet to see them go, but we love for ou
r new families to pick them up so you can begin making memories with their new furry family member. To encourage timely pick up we are going to implement some new rules.
-You will have a 10 day window after your puppy is of age, to pick up him or her
-Starting on the 11th day a $50 holding fee will be applied daily (this fee is on top of the remainder of price owed and will be paid before taking pup home)
Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis. We cannot stress enough that communication is key! We have purebred, true to the breed, PLL Clear, PRA/PRCD clear, UKC Registered Rat Terriers. All of our puppies are UKC puppy paper registered, PLL clear by parentage, PRA/PRCD clear by parentage and all pups have their tails docked and dew claws removed within days of being born. We have a 2 year genetic health guarantee and also send our families that have a pup reserved, weekly updates of pictures, videos and weights to see how their baby is growing, while waiting to bring them home. They come home with a small supply of current puppy food a fresh bath, and Frontline treatment. Pups are on a strict worming regimen from birth right up until leaving us and they leave us only after receiving their SECOND 5-way parvovirus vaccination. The 5 way shot that they receive helps build immunity to/and prevents Canine Distemper, Adenovirus Type 1 (Hepatitis), Adenovirus Type 2 (Respiratory Disease), Parainfluenza & Parvovirus. Your pup WILL have the best start to a healthy life, but should be followed up with vet recommendations. Your pup will not be fully protected until a couple of weeks after receiving their 3rd shot… so careful consideration of potty spots must be observed until then. Scarlett, Wicked, Rocke and Whistl n’ come to us from dedicated breeders that have over 40 years of experience of breeding show dog quality rat terriers! Rat terriers are full of energy, will keep your yard rodent, bug and spider free (or atleast ours do!) They are very intelligent dogs and very easily trained (but can be a bit stubborn at times!) and are AWESOME watchdogs. They are great companion animals and GREAT with kids! Pups will be ready to go home when they are 8 1/2+ weeks old. They have age appropriate parvovirus vaccinations up to date and are also worming is up to date when leaving us. A $300 deposit reserves pup of your choice until they are at age to go home, with remaining due at time of pickup.
