Nice evening for the Hancock Co. Fair rabbit show. I knew I’d be the only one with Belgian hares and spots, but with Danny Long judging, I had to bring them. I got some nice feedback on them and I’m getting better at knowing what’s good and bad myself. The hares will get one more show this weekend and then they just need time to mature. I also just need to spend more time with my spots. They get so nervous at shows and don’t run as well as they do at home.

Long long day today at the Lapeer Area rabbit show. 4am wake up🥱 Even though I’m exhausted, it was worth the drive to see and talk to so many familiar faces.

New Zealand:
2HN4 (6/8 buck)- 1st in class show A, BOSB/BOSV show B
2HN2 (6/8 doe)- BOB/BOV show A, 2nd in class show B

English Spot:
2HE3 (jr buck)- 2nd in class show A and B
2HE6 (jr buck)- DQ because he decided to obliterate his teeth on the car ride up. He sprayed a lot as well and I was on the fence keeping him, so he was culled today
2HE7 (jr buck)- DQ show A for a pimple, took care of it for show B and got 3rd in class
2HE8 (jr doe)- 2nd in class show A and B

I may have been the only one with Pals and Hares, but it’s always nice to get comments. It was a little disappointing how my spots did today, but you can’t win everything. At least I can count on my NZs to make it all worth it

Warm day at the Just for Fun show in Coldwater. Several people had little fans for their rabbits. I think I need to get myself a couple too.

I was the only person with hares, but it was nice to get some comments on them even if the judges didn’t agree on placing. As you can see they basically did the opposite places. I also want to thank Aileen Huard and Wins by a Hare for my starters into the breed!

This is L5s official retirement from the show circuit. His days from now on will include treats, ladies, and relaxation. He’s managed to get 10 legs, one being a BIS through a NZ specialty show. He is also registered and granded. I’ve already gotten some great babies from him and hope to get tons more in the future to come!

I am beyond excited about getting a Best in Show! I have no words! I am so thankful for Chris Boes and Cindy Harper for getting me some great stock to make this NZ doe. I can’t wait to see how she fills out, I mean, she’s only 5 months old!

I’m also stoked about my Palomino. She is a stellar rabbit. For BIS A judging, she got a mention. That might not be an official award, but it means a whole lot to me!

It doesn’t seem like the judges ever agree with the placing of my spots. They really are all over the board. Doesn’t make it easy for me to choose which ones I want to keep myself.

This was my first time ever showing a Belgian Hare. He’s still young so both judges talked about his fur, but both said he was a promising buck. Thanks to Wins by a Hare for him.
