Banx is a certified fun guy with a playful personality and a heart full of love! Despite feeling a little under the weather, his tail never stopped wagging and his happy spirit continued to shine. 💙

🐕‍🦺 He went potty right away like the goodest boy and walks nicely on leash, making him an easy companion for walks, outings, and adventures. Banx loves toys and is happy to share them, showing off both his playful side and his sweet nature.

🦴 He already knows "sit" and happily accepts treats for a job well done. He even gave the agility course a try… then decided he had more important things to do! 😄

💙 Friendly, affectionate, and generous with sweet puppy kisses, Banx is looking for a family ready for fun, laughter, and a loyal best friend.

Pumba is a happy, friendly boy who’s ready to steal a spot on your couch and become your partner in all of life’s adventures! This curious guy is full of love and just wants to be close to his people while exploring the world around him. 🥰

🐶 Pumba passed both his food test and doggy test and recently joined a doggy playgroup where he greeted all the dogs like the friendly guy that he is! He would likely do best with a dog who matches his playful, social style.

🦴 He knows "sit" and loves treats (he gets a little excited about them! 😋). Pumba went potty outside right away, so he’s already off to a great start.

🧸 He’s not super interested in toys, but he is definitely interested in affection! This sweet boy gave kisses and wants to be close to you while still enjoying the chance to explore and satisfy his curiosity.

Harley really opens up outside of her kennel. She is a love bug and dog friendly. She is the cutest lil low rider. She also has a great video from her dog day out! 🥰

I’d love to see Harley and a foster or adoptive home before the weekend. But no later than Tuesday, August 11 at 6 PM, since she is one of 15 dogs on the urgent list due to overcrowding. Adopters should go to the shelter in person at least one hour before closing.

Harley recently traded her kennel for a Doggy Day Out adventure, and this sweet girl was the perfect little road trip companion! She visited the National Arboretum and a local pet store, proving that she’s ready to enjoy life outside the shelter. 💙

🚗 Harley is a natural adventure buddy!
She rode like a pro in the car, enjoyed a peaceful stroll through the gardens (even in the rain!), and took her time exploring all the amazing smells along the way.

🦴 Harley already knows "sit" and is more than happy to show off for a tasty treat! She walks nicely in a harness and has an easygoing, laid-back vibe that makes her perfect for someone looking for a relaxed companion.

🐾 During her outing, Harley wasn’t bothered by passing dogs or kids zooming by on scooters. She happily soaked up attention from the pet store manager, earning lots of pets and giving a few sweet kisses in return. 💋

🐶 Harley has met another shelter dog, Shimmer, and did well! She can be a little forward when meeting new canine friends but was patient through lots of sniffs. At the pet store, when another dog got too close to her face, Harley politely let them know she prefers a little more personal space.

Because of this, Harley would do best with slow, thoughtful introductions to any resident dogs.

We have some encouraging news to share!

🎉 Three dogs are now safe:

That leaves 12 dogs still on the 8/11 urgent list needing our help.

Six of these dogs are eligible for the shelter’s foster program, but approved fosters must identify the dog they would like to foster by the end of TODAY (Friday). If you’re already an approved PGASD foster, this is one of the fastest ways to save a life.

I’ve been watching Thomas’s post since he came into the shelter because he had quite the unusual photo. Now that volunteers have gotten one where he’s looking his best we know he’s going to shine! Thomas has the best years in the business and a fantastic personality to match. And there’s just something about dogs with human names that brings a smile to my face.

Unfortunately, Thomas finds himself on an urgent list of 15 dogs that must leave the shelter by Tuesday, August 11th at 6 PM. This is simply due to overcrowding.

If you’re interested in adopting, please go to the shelter in person and arrive at at least one hour before closing.

Thomas is on a journey, and he’s looking for a family to help him get to his happy, healthy weight. This handsome boy came to the shelter underweight, so right now his world pretty much revolves around food. 🥹

🦴 Thomas already knows "sit" (especially when treats are involved!) and passed his food test with ease. He is extremely food motivated, which makes training and building a bond with him a breeze.

🐶 Thomas also did well meeting two male dogs. He went potty right away, so he’s off to a great start with house training.

Once Thomas is back to a healthy weight and feeling his best, we believe his full personality will have the chance to blossom even more. This sweet boy just needs a little patience, plenty of yummy snacks, and a cozy place to call home. 🐶💛

Niobe is a sweet, curious girl who may take a little time to settle in, but once she does, her personality starts to shine. Give her a moment to feel comfortable, and you’ll see a dog ready to explore, enjoy new adventures, and soak in all the good things life has to offer.

🐾 Niobe is a professional grass-rolling enthusiast who believes every patch of grass deserves a good wiggle! She loves taking in the world around her, from new sights to every little sound. She took care of business outside, had no issues with her food test, and showed that she’s a smart and adaptable girl.

Niobe met Bermuda and exchanged a few polite sniffs but wasn’t very interested in interacting. She did lick her lips a few times, so slow introductions to resident pets after she has time to decompress will be important. She may simply be dog-selective or may have just not been interested in that particular interaction.
