GRRAND Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND) - Greater Louisville, KY, Greater Lexington, KY & Greater Cincinnati Area.

GRRAND is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Since our inception in 1994, we’ve rescued and re-homed more than 5,000 Golden Retrievers and mixed breed dogs. Averaging around 200-300 intakes per year, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home dogs that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected along with those who are the victims of changed life circumstances such as finan

cial hardship, divorce, allergies, relocation, illness, or death. The medical resources and cost required to rescue one dog are vast, ranging from basic vaccinations and medical tests to heartworm treatment and surgeries. We rely on adoption fees, donations, and fundraising so that we never have to say no to a dog in need.

A Bonded Pair Who Need Each Other!

Marcy (5‑year‑old Goldendoodle, ~60 lbs) and Bingo (1‑year‑old Golden mix, ~40 lbs) lost their home during the Eastern Kentucky flooding. They came to GRRAND together, and at first we thought they could be adopted separately but we were wrong.

Bingo was adopted without Marcy and became anxious, overwhelmed, and began resource‑guarding. When he returned to the kennel and saw Marcy again, they were ECSTATIC tails wagging, full‑body wiggles, pure relief. Bingo immediately relaxed. Marcy is his comfort, his stability, and his safe place. They are truly bonded and must stay together.

💛 Life in Their Foster Home
Their foster family shared:

“Mother and son are affectionate, happy, healthy doggies. They were relaxed and loving from the moment they arrived. They play together, race around the yard, and come immediately when called. House‑trained, no destruction. Marcy is low‑key and loves to lounge. Bingo is energetic, alert, and happiest with a rubber ball in his mouth. Marcy loves soft stuffed animals.”

These two balance each other beautifully — Marcy is the calm, steady presence; Bingo is the playful, goofy little guy who feels safest with her by his side.

🏡 What They Need
Adult‑only home (Bingo is very nervous around kids and does not do well with chaos)

A calm, patient household

A family committed to giving them exercise, structure, and continued training

Time to help Bingo build confidence

A home where they can stay together forever

Two Great Pyrenees Puppies Saved Just in Time!

Dixie and her sister Darling are 9‑month‑old Great Pyrenees sweethearts who survived a heartbreaking situation. They were found chained outside a small business and were ordered to be euthanized by Animal Control until a compassionate employee reached out and GRRAND stepped in just in time.

These girls are already about 65 lbs at only 9 months, so they will be big, beautiful floofs when fully grown. We would love to see them adopted together and honestly, who doesn’t love double the floof?

💛 Their Temperament
Very sweet and gentle

Warmed up to everyone at the vet, INCLUDING CATS! Check out the pics.

Classic Great Pyr calmness and laid‑back energy

Shy and timid right now due to all the recent changes

Kissed each other every time they were reunited at the vet (yes, really)

Dog friendly, cat friendly, people friendly

They are now safe at the GRRAND kennel, settling in and beginning their new chapter. Even after everything they’ve endured, they remain gentle, observant, and full of that signature Pyr sweetness.

Gentle, Bonded Labradoodle Brothers

Michael and DJ are 8‑year‑old Labradoodle brothers, about 88 lbs each, who are looking for their forever home together. Their owner is moving into assisted living and can no longer care for them, so these boys are with GRRAND through no fault of their own.

“They’re the kindest, sweetest, most gentle dogs. They’ve only ever known life together.”

💛 Life in Their Foster Home
Their foster family absolutely adores them:

Double the Goldens, Double the Joy!

Zeus and his brother Hermes are 3‑year‑old Golden Retriever boys, each about 100 lbs, looking for their forever family. They were left with a family member while their person went on vacation… and heartbreakingly, no one ever returned for them.

These two look exactly alike and are goofy, energetic, lovable boys who need a family ready to give them structure, exercise, and training.

💛 About Zeus & Hermes
Crate‑trained and sleep in their crates at night

Young, active, and full of energy

Need obedience training and leash‑work

Would thrive with a secure fenced yard to run and play

Not well‑socialized with other dogs outside of each other and will need patient, positive socialization

🐾 What We’ve Seen So Far
These boys are:

Big, silly, and toy‑obsessed

Very smart and quick to pick up new routines

Excitable around other dogs due to lack of socialization

A Bonded Pair Full of Love & Courage

Webster affectionately called “Webbie” is a charming, toy‑loving little guy (2½–3 years old, ~35 lbs) with cream fur, freckled ears, and a heart that shines. He’s one of the Spencer County hoarding survivors and has blossomed beautifully in foster care.

Where Ruby is cautious, Webbie is often the brave one first, gently showing her the world is safe. And wherever Ruby goes, Webbie is right behind her. Their bond is deep, steady, and truly special.

Loves toys, zooming in the yard, car rides, and snuggling with Ruby

Housebroken & crate trained

Still nervous with leashes and vet visits but improving every day

Ruby came from the same hoarding case and was once one of the most shut‑down dogs in the group hiding under cots, terrified of interaction. In foster care, she has made extraordinary progress and now functions like a “normal dog,” trusting her foster family and their dogs. She still needs time to warm up to new people, and Webbie is her anchor.

A Bonded Pair Ready for Forever

Daisy (5‑year‑old Lab mix, ~60 lbs) and Stella (3‑year‑old Goldendoodle, ~60 lbs) lost their owners when they passed away. Neighbors took them in, helped them regain weight and stability, and now these two best friends are ready for a forever home together.

💛 Daisy
Petite, sweet, and “chill” once she settles. She walks okay on a leash but needs practice, has some storm anxiety, and is now thriving after being treated for a severe flea infestation. Calm around the family’s senior dog and gentle with people.

💛 Stella
Playful, puppy‑like, and eager to learn. She’s crate‑trained, affectionate, and needs continued training and confidence‑building. She is deeply bonded to Daisy and relies on her for comfort.

🏡 Their Current Life
Arrived very underweight — now healthy and thriving

Crated separately during the day but choose to sleep together in an XL crate every night

Bella is Maple’s equally floofy, equally sweet sister — also 8 months old and about 60 lbs. She and Maple have been together since birth and are deeply bonded. They rely on each other for comfort, confidence, and companionship.

Their people could no longer afford their care and made the heartbreaking decision to surrender them to GRRAND so they could get the life they deserve.

These girls have been together since the day Dixie was born, and they are truly best friends. They rely on each other for comfort, confidence, and companionship. These girls will need to stay together.
