There are so many incredible rescues in need of support right here in Colarado, many of whom have puppies available regularly, where you can find the age, size, breed, etc puppy you're looking to add to your fur family. A client reached out to us about this Pyrenese rescue; we are passionate about providing care to pets of all species and pups of all breeds. We care for quite a few Great Pyrenese in the area and they are such special dogs and companions. Give this article a read when you have a moment. We are always looking for ways to support local rescues in our community and hope they are able to find new owners to take over the rescue. 💕

What Does Your Dog’s Smile Mean? 😁

We all love when our pups flash those adorable, toothy grins—but did you know that a dog’s “smile” can mean different things? Here’s what those happy faces could be telling you:

- Relaxed Smile: A loose, open mouth with a relaxed body usually means your dog is calm and content. This is the classic "happy dog" look!

- Submissive Grin: Some dogs show their teeth as a friendly gesture, often accompanied by a wagging tail and soft eyes—this is different from an aggressive snarl.

- Panting Smile: After playtime or in warm weather, an open-mouth “smile” helps your dog cool down. Be sure they stay hydrated and cool!

- A dog’s "smile" can sometimes be a sign of stress, especially if accompanied by tense body language, pinned ears, or wide eyes, so it’s important to read the whole picture to understand how they feel.

Happy National Pie Day!!

Here's a fun tasty recipe you can make for your pets today:

🐾 Pumpkin & Chicken Pie for Pets 🐾

Ingredients
1/2 cup canned pumpkin (plain, no sugar or spices)
1/2 cup cooked, shredded chicken (unseasoned, skinless, boneless)
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 egg (for binding)
1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for added flavor and healthy fats)
1/2 cup whole wheat or oat flour (or grain-free flour for sensitive pets)

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mix the pumpkin, chicken, applesauce, and coconut oil in a bowl until well combined.
Add the egg and stir until incorporated.
Slowly add the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
Roll the dough into a flat circle or press into small muffin tins or a pie mold for individual servings.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pie is firm and golden brown.
Let cool before serving.

Optional Toppings
Unsweetened yogurt or a dollop of extra pumpkin for decoration.

- Dry off wet fur and paws after being outside to prevent chills and irritation.
- Provide extra warmth with cozy blankets or pet sweaters if your pet gets cold easily.
