As 2025 comes to an end, we'd like to take a minute to reflect on all of the horses that have come through our gates over the past 25 years. The horses who broke our hearts, the horses who stole our hearts and the horses that we all grew to love. They will always have a special place in our hearts & minds.

We would also like to thank our donors and sponsors. Without you, we would not have been able to help these horses for the past 25 years. The amazing legacy of Doris Day inspires us jump into the New Year with determination and hope. Thank you for supporting our mission! ❤️

Enjoy a glimpse of some of those horses who are still with us, some who have passed and those who were lucky enough to find their forever homes.

Santa’s Helpers came early today! We are so grateful for these equine professionals who graciously gave their time and expertise for some of our special senior horses! Myles Hopton, EqDt - Pegasus Equine Services and Mo’s Equine Dentistry, along with Sam and new equine dental student, Trinity, took care of our newest horses’ dental needs heading into winter. Plus, a few lucky horses got pedicures and body work thanks to to Kevin Broadhurst - Broadhurst Farrier Services and Riley - Momentum Equine Bodywork. Thank you all for caring so much and helping these rescue horses feel their best!

Bo would like to introduce himself, along with his friend Trixie!

These two adorable minis came to us a few weeks ago. A very kind family had taken them in when their owner could no longer care for them. That family had very good intentions for the minis, but they realized their farm was not so "mini friendly". They reached out to us and we were happy to take them. Bo and Trixie are both in their 20's but don't let that fool you. They've both got quite the personality! They are a bonded pair, as Trixie is blind and she relies on Bo to be her eyes. They are super friendly and gentle souls.

Maryland Horse Rescue, located in Westminster, is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to giving horses a second chance. They rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome senior, blind, and at-risk horses from Animal Control, Humane Societies, and similar agencies — providing safe, informed, and compassionate care for every equine that comes through their gates.

They don’t sell horses; their mission is purely rescue-focused, ensuring each horse receives the support, dignity, and future it deserves. They operate entirely on donations and the hard work of volunteers.

Please help us give a big thank you to these gals with Towson Equestrian Club for volunteering with us today! They organized the horses’ winter blankets, cleaned the barn, and other winter prep. These students were ready to jump in and help!
