Also pumpkin is a good sub for yams; they have a similar fiber type which is why they’re good for the gut. This soup would be a great way to use up those jack o’lanterns after Halloween. 🎃 They’ve gotten so expensive! Might as well get further use out of them!

Instead of commercial bone broth, I would just throw some bones in a pot to steep with a tbsp or 2 of ACV for a couple of hours prior to adding the other ingredients. I save most of my family’s bones (even chicken wings!) in a big ziplock in the freezer for this purpose. Bones people have eaten off of (such as chicken, ribs, etc) go in one bag for dogs only, bones off of roasts and large cuts go in another for either human or canine stocks.

Fantastic nutrition & immune support when I have a pregnant/nursing dam and weaning pups!
