Fred

This little guy is about to pop with personality.

Red head Fred loves his toys, but don’t try to take them away from him. In the morning he will go from open room to open room and take all the other dogs toys and take them back to his bed.

Fred when he first came to us was a major humper but has settled down a bunch since being neutered.

Everyone has compared him to Hank, Fred has a sillier personality, Hank more mocha.

Bianca

She got to come home after her over night at the Vet.

Her x-rays showed bone infection in both hind legs/feet and a bad hip. At this time she is on antibiotics to get rid of the infection. Then we will move to the hip issue.

Coming from her situation she remains very sweet. We are working on putting some weight on her to get her healthy again. 41 # for a puppy of this breed is rediculous.

Spirit

This girl was left at the shelter by her homeless dad that felt he had no way to keep her. They offered him assistance but he thought it was best to surrender her.

Let’s say that Spirit was misunderstood at the shelter by some and we were asked by Journey Home Rescue to take her in as a behavioral foster.

If you were interested in adopting while she was at the shelter and told Rescue only, please reach out to Journey Home Rescue and let’s get her into her forever home.

I can explain all my findings and explain basic dog behavior if you are interested in her.

Indy

I’m not sure if she is a dog or a goat.

Indy came to us July 4thish 2024.

She was hit by a car on the Waco area. She struggled with bone infection in her broken leg and after a battle the best decision was to remove her leg.

Indy is shy until she gets to know you then her real personality takes over. She would do best with someone that would foster to adopt so you could really get to know her. Meet and greets aren’t her thing when she doesn’t know you.

If a car starts and this goober is anywhere near he is trying to get in.

This morning he was barking at his Aunt Susan wanting her to get him in the van quick!!

Bianca

When I think we are able to concentrate on getting more dogs adopted out another puppy in need shows up.

This beautiful girl was found with three other girls.

Happy Tails Ranch took her sister, who ended up with a gunshot to the right elbow.

Pearl’s Place took Bianca.

Bianca will be going into the Vet this morning to see what we are up against. On intake we headed to the bath tub. She was infested with fleas and ticks. Also in the tub I am able to clean all her wounds up. This girl is so so sweet, but I wouldn’t expect any different from this breed.

After her bath, I applied triple oil to her wounds and wrapped that mangled leg to keep it protected and clean.

Susan and Hank spent about 5 minutes outside this morning before Hank was begging to go in.

Update on Bruce.

Thank God his x-rays looked normal. He still is painful in his left hip when his leg is extended, as well as his lower back. His Doctor believes it is soft tissue sprain or strain. This boy is growing quickly, making up for lost time.

Bruce was 30 # when he was pulled from the shelter and this morning he weighed 50.1 #.

His f***l showed that we are still fighting parasites and will continue to medicate.

As you can see from the pictures this boy is starting to open up and enjoy life.

Bruce

I want to give everyone an update on Bruce.

Yes, Bruce is now with us. Yes, we were denied at the shelter to give him care.

One thing to remember is each Rescue that we work with has their own niche that they specialize in. Medical is ours.

Bruce received the best medical care possible by the rescue that pulled him. As he began to grow and gain weight other issues started to show.

We took him in to have a check up a couple of weeks ago. He still had parasites and his bloodwork was less than perfect.

I have noticed that he is having issues with him rear end. He isn’t able to run and play like a puppy should. He is very cow hocked and he prefers to play laying down. He is also very low in his front pasterns.

I discussed my concerns with his doctor, showed him pictures and videos and he agreed we need to look into this. He will have x-rays today to see if whatever is happening with him can be improved.

I can’t stress this enough, when a puppy has a beginning of life like Bruce, they need special care from the moment they are found. Bruce didn’t get that. If a dog is sick enough to need a blood transfusion, then they need specialized care from that moment forward. Not put in a cage and given the minimal amount of food and claim he was receiving care. Abuse is Abuse no matter what fancy words you attach to it.

I will update everyone as soon as I know more.
