Ever notice your horse moves a little stiff after standing overnight in the stall?😬

Here’s what’s actually going on👇

🐴 Synovial fluid—that’s the natural lubricant inside your horse’s joints—is designed to reduce friction and keep things moving smoothly.

But here’s the catch:
🐴When your horse stands still for long periods (like overnight, or sadly in some cases for days in a stall ), that fluid doesn’t circulate as well.

🐴 It can temporarily thicken and settle, making joints feel stiff or sticky.

🐴It’s not that the fluid disappears or leaks out—it’s still there, just not being actively moved around.

🏇🏼 Movement is key! 🏇🏼

Even light walking gets that fluid flowing, reduces stiffness, and helps your horse feel more comfortable and fluid in their stride.

💬 Just like us, horses need a good warm-up—and some daily motion—to keep their joints happy.💪

Optional support: turnout/pasture living, gentle exercise, proper footing, joint supplements, or even therapy tools like BEMER can help.

So get out there and move your horse it’s good for you to 🤩💙

Tried something simple but rewarding yesterday. 🙌

AND you bunny huggers🐇 GOING TO WANT IT!🤩

I made a DIY fly spray using an ALL purpose product from Shaklee 🤯… I was pleased with how easy it is to make AND with how well it worked at keeping the 🪰 🪰off🙌

I was surprised at how nicely it worked especially without any harsh chemicals and nasty smells🤢 (I hate how toxic many of the fly sprays are)
Plus, this DYI is gentle on skin and super cost-effective.💸

I love having a biodegradable, non-toxic, multipurpose tools like this around to use. 🐴🌏

Exciting Equestrian Clinic experience in the Works! 🐴

I had a wonderful conversation with internationally renowned equestrian clinician Wendy Murdoch about the possibility of bringing her to the Bay Area for a Biomechanics Riding Clinic! 🐎💫

Wendy is a Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner, creator of the Murdoch Method and the popular SURE FOOT Equine Equine Stability Program. 🤩
She has over 40 years of experience helping riders of all disciplines improve their balance, coordination, and connection with their horse—without force or tension.

This clinic would be an incredible opportunity to:
✅ Improve your posture and seat
✅ Ride with more ease and less pain
✅ Deepen your connection with your horse
✅ Learn powerful body-awareness techniques for both horse and rider

I am currently gauging interest—would YOU want to ride in this clinic?
Whether you’re a pleasure rider, competitor, or just curious about how biomechanics can transform your riding experience, we’d love to hear from you! Open to ALL disciplines!!🤩

🏡 We’re also looking for a suitable venue with a covered arena. Ideally located in the East Bay( California)though we’re open to other areas around the Bay as well.

🐴If you’re interested in riding, auditing, or hosting, please comment below or message me directly!

Let’s make this happen!🤠

🎥 Here is a video with one of my former students working on an handy Horsewomanship skill—getting her horse to release to pressure from a rope around his hind leg. 🐴💫

This kind of groundwork teaches a horse to stay calm, think and yield instead of panic when they feel pressure—whether it’s during hoof care, vet work, getting tangled in a fence, or even cast in a stall. Situations like that can turn into a wreck fast if a horse doesn’t know how to mentally and physically soften to pressure.

These simple lessons lay the foundation for a safer, more confident horse—and a more empowered human, too. 🐎

Watch this horse’s expression and response change from the beginning to the end of this clip.What do you notice?🤠

"Sometimes a horse will put up the greatest resistance just before he comes through. I call it 'the darkest hour before the dawn'. When the horse has tried all the avenues of his natural instinct of self-preservation and puts up its greatest resistance; is when people will usually give-up or get mad. If they would just be patient, the horse is about to come around.'" - Tom Dorrance.

I’ve got this from one of Buck Branaman’s groups. The original post came from the person called Rocky Samal. I don’t think it really came from her. She looks like she might be a false account. Though I really liked what the post said so I’m sharing it.
🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴

Buck Brannaman said something I wrote into my clinic journal and have been mulling over a lot. A clinic attendant asked how many times she would need to correct something that her horse was doing. Buck said “If you are asking that question it means you have already failed at this whole thing! It tells me and the horse you are putting mental limitations on how many times you are willing to correct it. If you find yourself asking “how many times.......” you might as well quit cause it means you aren’t willing to do whatever it takes to turn out a good horse. You have to be willing to do it as many times as the horse is going to do it and nobody knows how much that will be. Do it till it’s fixed.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have been finding this quote pop up in my brain in a lot of areas of my life lately. This is one of my favorite parts of riding and training horses. I find SO many areas where this journey is more about me and my character than about a step by step program for the horses. How often do I let my emotions take over and make me ask that question, how many more times will I have to......reassure the horse who spooks.........clean up the kids toys.......wash these dishes.......fold laundry........work thru a disagreement with my husband......correct that behavior in my kid......deal with a difficult go worker.......correct the buddy sour horse........remind the horse to keep out of my space.........fill it in with your own situation.
Learn to recognize when you have set mental limitations and how that self sabotages your progress with frustrated emotions because it isn’t happening in your timeline.
