Asha's baby is a boy! This little one has already captured our hearts and now you can celebrate his arrival by symbolically adopting a gorilla.

Each adoption package includes a personalized adoption certificate, fact sheet about critically endangered Western lowland gorillas, and an adorable photo of our brand-new baby boy. Want to make it extra special? The Gorilla Wild Adopt package ($65) includes a cuddly baby gorilla plush! Swing into action - these packages are in limited supply and will be gone before you know it!

Other digital and traditional adoption packages start at just $35. Adoption packages can be purchased at cmzoo.org/adopt.

Every adoption supports expert care, nutrition, and enrichment for all our animals - including our baby gorilla. Whether you’re adopting on behalf of someone special in your life or you're simply head over heels for gorillas, it’s a mountain-sized way to welcome the newest member of our troop.

Celebrate a giant step for our troop, one tiny foot at a time!

Exciting news: Asha’s little one is a boy!

While Asha is sometimes visible to guests, she’s still enjoying plenty of private bonding time in her dens and favorite nest up on the hill. Asha is doing well and keeps a gentle, watchful eye on her baby. The baby has reached important milestones, including grasping, holding his head up, rooting, making eye contact with keepers, developing mouth and tongue mobility and focusing on objects.

Stay tuned for more updates on Asha's baby boy!

One of the translations of Adira’s name means “powerful,” and we think that’s just right. She carries herself with quiet confidence, keen awareness, and the calm determination to claim her favorite spots — snuggled in with Koda and Sitka in the winter, and relaxing solo on a shady rock in the summer.
