❄️ Could you be Snowstorm's next foster family? ❄️

Snowstorm is a 4-year-old White/Cream Shiba Inu currently fostered near Gurnee, IL — and while he's actively looking for his forever home, we always want to make sure our dogs have a safe, loving place to land if anything changes.

He is friendly, house trained, great on leash, and absolutely loves fetch and toys. He does need to be the only dog in the home — he has resource guarding behaviors around food, treats, and his water bowl, so no other dogs, please.

Fostering is one of the most meaningful things you can do for a rescue dog. You provide the home and the love; we handle the medical care and the adoption process. You get a front-row seat to watching a dog like Snowstorm discover what it means to feel safe.

❄️ MEET SNOWSTORM — Looking for his forever home ❄️

This handsome 4-year-old White/Cream Shiba Inu is 19 lbs of energy, enthusiasm, and heart. He came to us as a stray — never microchipped, never neutered — but that's all being taken care of. His neuter is scheduled for June 25th, and he is ready to find the family he was always meant to have.

Snowstorm is house trained, walks great on a leash, loves kids, and is absolutely toy and fetch obsessed. He's friendly with people, full of personality, and has what his foster family describes as "very big feelings about everything." 🐾

🏡 ONE REQUIREMENT — NO OTHER DOGS:
Snowstorm needs to be the only dog in his home. He has resource guarding behaviors around food, treats, and his water bowl, and has had a conflict with another dog over a treat. He is not a fit for a multi-dog household, but in the right home with structure and patience, he will absolutely thrive.

Snowstorm is fostered near Gurnee, IL. Applicants must be willing to travel to the Chicago, IL area to meet him.

He's a friendly, playful, energetic boy who loves kids, lives for fetch, and walks great on a leash. He's house trained, toy-obsessed, and has what his foster family lovingly calls "very big feelings about everything." He is not fazed by other dogs on walks or near the fence — his drama is reserved for loud trucks and motorcycles. 😄

Any information on how lost or found, description, etc: I found her wandering in the grass around 7:45 AM, next to the Caribou Coffee off West Broadway. I waited for about a half hour for anyone to maybe come looking. The police department said there was another call about her earlier. She was turned over to the Brooklyn park police department.

Valentina is sweet, spicy, fluffy, funny — and she does need a little extra love when it comes to her skin. We want her forever family to go in fully informed, because the right person will see her care routine not as a burden, but as a chance to bond with an incredibly patient, trusting girl. 🧡

HERE'S WHAT CARING FOR VAL LOOKS LIKE TODAY:

🛁 BATH TIME — weekly (or after any mud-rolling incidents 😄)
Her sweet spot is a blend of probiotic oatmeal shampoo for her body, combined with medicated Duoxo products specifically on her paws, butt, and chin where she deals with yeast. This combo has been the magic formula — her skin is responding beautifully.

🐾 DAILY PAW CARE
Once a day, her foster family does a thorough paw cleaning using a combination of gentle baby wipes and Duoxo wipes. The baby wipes are key — Duoxo alone can be drying, so the mix keeps things balanced and comfortable for her.

💉 CYTOPOINT INJECTIONS — every ~5 weeks
Valentina gets Cytopoint shots at the vet to manage her allergies and keep her comfortable. Her last one was May 12th and she's doing great — her foster is watching her closely and doesn't expect she'll need the next one until late June if she starts to flare up. These are a normal, routine part of her care and make a huge difference in her quality of life.

WHAT'S GOING ON WITH HER SKIN:
