We’ll gather from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. to pick up trash, have breakfast, raffle off some great prizes, and collect school supplies. 🚨 Friends of Jupiter Beach is proud to partner with The Education Foundation for this initiative! Give back and earn additional community services hours by donating school supplies 📚✏️ 6 supplies = 2 additional hours (up to 6 additional hours allowed)

When temperatures rise, your pet sitter or dog walker may need to:

✅ Shorten your pet’s walk.
✅ Engage your pet in an alternate activity such as indoor playtime.
✅ Rearrange your pet’s exercise schedule to avoid the hottest part of the day.

⛱️🔥Stay cool, stay safe! We’re all familiar with Florida heat, but it can have dangerous consequences for our pets if we don’t take precautions to prevent overheating. Below are some tips for keeping your beloved pup safe at the beach this summer.

💧Fresh Water & Hydration
Bring plenty of fresh, cool water for your dog and a portable bowl.
Offer them water frequently to prevent dehydration.
Discourage your dog from drinking saltwater, as it can cause dehydration and stomach upset.

⛱️Bring or Find Shade
Bring a sun tent or umbrella to create a shaded area where your dog can cool down.
Look for natural shade, like under a tree or in the mangroves, if available.

⏰Avoid the Hottest Parts of the Day
Plan your beach visit for early mornings or late afternoons when the sun’s intensity is lower.

🐚Protect Paws from Hot Sand
Sand can get extremely hot and burn your dog’s paws, as can the asphalt in the beach parking lots.
Check the ground’s temperature by placing your hand on it for a few seconds. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.
Consider using paw wax or dog booties to protect their paw pads.

🥏Limit Strenuous Activity
Avoid excessive running or playing in the heat.
Ensure your dog takes frequent breaks in the shade and for water.

☀️Recognize Signs of Heatstroke:
Learn to identify the signs of heatstroke, such as excessive panting, drooling, vomiting, weakness, confusion, or collapse.
If you observe these symptoms, immediately move your dog to a cooler area, offer water, and seek veterinary care.
