PAWS of Hertford County is a 501(c)(3), volunteer run non-profit animal rescue. Formed in 2006, and based in Hertford County, NC, we work collaboratively with Hertford County Animal Control to provide care and find homes for the abandoned animals within the county. Annually, we bring approximately 400 animals into our care. We also provide assistance to the community through low-cost spay/neuter a

Spotty dotty Junebug is in kitten confidence school - and taking some good notes! She enjoys treats and chin scratches. Junebug loves to be petted and will roll over and purr when we rub her tummy. She has amazing intelligent eyes and will surely grow up to be a super smart girl since she is a Tortie. SUGAR IS ADOPTED!!

Our first adoption of the day happened before we ever even left the shelter!! A local family realized we were taking sugar to PetSmart and were leaving at 8:00 a.m. so they actually met us at the shelter before that! Congratulations Sugar and family!! She is absolutely the sweetest girl!!
