Help Heal the wounded soldier whose damages are unseen thru therapeutic and meaningful work with animals. With peer support and interaction.
And most importantly, with the support of the community and civilians that partake and engage in our program. Our dogs are not service dogs or therapy dogs, they are shelter dogs that are like the Vets in so many ways. They are stygmatized, misunderstood - not so good thing have happened to them; yet you you could have no greater friend. To quote one of the combat Veterans in the program:
"I like working with these dogs because ther were throw aways just like me"

Well that’s a wrap for the Niagara County Peach Festival 2025. Today was day two for us and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Our tent was very busy and full of good vibes all afternoon. All three dogs will sleep very well tonight that’s for sure.

Another successful adoption was finalized yesterday with our great friends at Sadie’s Safe Harbor Animal Rescue and Army Veteran Michael Shanley. Please give a warm welcome to our newest member of Dog Tags New York Tor “Tilla” - Ming Shanley. Tilla is a 6 month old pug with a ton of energy and a great personality so we know she will be a great fit for the Shanley family.

Over the weekend we received some very sad news. One of our therapy dogs Ruby passed away and crossed the rainbow bridge. Ruby was a great dog who joined our program in 2017. Ruby who was paired up with her owner Army veteran Mike Shanley received training and became a Therapy Dog very quickly. Over the past eight years Ruby put in a ton of Therapy Dog work around here in WNY. She brought comfort and peace to many and she will be dearly missed to say the least. Please keep Mike and his family in your thoughts as they deal with the loss of their baby.
