Houston came to us from Bark n' Rolls Rockin' Rescue (), and Dr. Lange discovered he had a congenital heart defect known as a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). Left uncorrected, a PDA can lead to congestive heart failure — but thankfully, that won't 🚫 be Houston's story.
He underwent a PDA occlusion, a procedure where a small device is placed across the defect to close the open vessel in his heart. Houston did great throughout the procedure and recovery, and was beyond excited to head home with his foster mom, Sam! ❤️

This is Max. He's obsessed with treats, allergic to Mondays, and he is living with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) — a common but often silent heart condition in cats. 🐱🧡

We've heard of swinging into action — and that's exactly what we did. 🧐🩺 Coast to Coast Cardiology is proud to have volunteered at the Santa Barbara Zoo, providing a complete cardiac examination, doppler blood pressure measurement, electrocardiogram, and echocardiogram for one of their incredible resident Gibbons. It's a privilege to extend our expertise beyond the clinic and contribute to the wellbeing of wildlife.
