This lovely lady is as sweet as they come! Patsy is a social butterfly 🦋 who adores people and seeks out affection like a pro. Whether she’s curling up beside you or gently nudging your hand for more chin scratches 😻, she makes it clear she’s happiest when she’s near her humans.

Patsy’s affectionate nature and love for treats make her the perfect companion for someone looking for a gentle, loving cat to share their home 🏡.

Adoption update! 🐾 🎉
Squeegee (now named Squidgy) was originally a stray, living outside before being brought to us. He's now been adopted for two years, and his forever family recently sent us this lovely update:

"I hope this message finds you well! I’m writing to share an update on a very special dog we adopted from your organization two years ago—Squidgy (formerly known as Squeegee).

When we first brought him home, he was emaciated, had wounds on his neck, and was understandably cautious and slow to trust. But over time, with a lot of love and patience, Squidgy has truly blossomed. He’s now a happy, healthy, and delightfully chunky boy who brings so much joy to our lives every single day.

He loves snuggling up with us, playing with his canine brother Bacchus, and basking in the sun—especially when he’s wearing one of his cozy sweaters. His silly, playful personality continues to shine more each day, and he’s become such a lovable goofball. It’s been an incredible journey watching him come out of his shell and learn to feel safe and loved.

We’re so grateful to your team for rescuing Squidgy and giving him the chance to find his forever home. I’ve attached a few recent photos so you can see just how far he’s come!

Meet Sentry! 🐾🐕

Sentry is a big, bold German Shepherd with a bark that says “security detail” and a heart that says “snuggle buddy” 🛋️❤️. This handsome goofball might sound like a tough guy at first, but don’t be fooled—he’s all about belly rubs, playtime 🎾, and being your oversized shadow.

Sentry can be a little wary of men at first and may need a bit of time and patience ⏳💛 to warm up, but once he trusts you, he’s all in. He’s the kind of dog who’ll announce visitors like he’s guarding the palace 🏰, then try to sit in their lap five minutes later 🐶.

With his playful energy and gentle soul, Sentry is ready to trade his pretend guard dog gig for a real job as your loyal, loving best friend 🐕💞.

Sentry is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all of his vaccinations. You can meet him at the CASPCA between the hours of 12 and 6 PM daily, no appointment necessary.

These are the pets that have arrived at the shelter over the last few days and we want to get them home to their owners. Please DO NOT apply for these animals as they are strays waiting to find their family! If you recognize any of them, please call us at (434) 973-5959 or stop by the shelter from 12-6pm. These animals are not available for adoption until their stray hold is over and they have been spayed/neutered. They will be posted to our website at that time if they are not redeemed. Thank you for your help in getting these animals home!

Adoption Update! 🎉🐾 Fernando came to us way back in 2022 as one of the thousands of Beagles rescued from the Envigo breeding and testing facility. He was one of 70 Beagles adopted from CASPCA, and his forever family recently sent us this amazing update:

"Hello! We are taking Fernando to an Envigo Beagle Reunion in State College, Pennsylvania this Saturday to romp and play with his old cellmates in a lush, green, off-leash, fenced in dog park!

We just wanted to say thank you for bringing Fernando into our lives. He has changed our lives in the most incredible way. We couldn't imagine our life without him. We live for him everyday. He is incredibly spoiled rotten and we wouldn't have it any other way!! The work you guys do is so incredibly important. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything you guys do at your Charlottesville-Albermarle SPCA shelter! " 🐶❤️
