Happy summer Friday!🌞🌊🌳

Today we have Alex one one of his favorite beds right next to Barb's workstation. Alex loves Barb and often looks as cute as possible to see if he can distract her from her work. He's even making mushy paws at her!

We'd love to see photos of YOUR pets looking absolutely irresistible. If you don't have a photo to share then just enjoy Alex and the enjoy the rest of your Friday!😊

Carnegie Cat Clinic is the feline-exclusive part of our practice. For those of you newer to our Princeton Animal Hospital / Carnegie Cat Clinic practice, PAH is located on the main level and CCC is located on the lower level. It has a completely separate entrance so that your cat never needs to encounter or hear a barking dog. If you are unaware, you should know that Carnegie often gets RAVE reviews because it is filled with people like Dr. Jones and technician, Barb, who are true cat whisperers. We recently had a review that mentioned Dr. Jones by name so we thought we'd celebrate her, along with everyone else who works in CCC, today. In case you can't read the small type on the photo, it says:

"Dr Jones is the best. She was really gentle and patient with my older cat who was in pain and very anxious during the visit. She was also a good listener to our concerns about the issues my cat was suffering from and very knowledgeable about possible treatments." The review was signed, JB.

We want to thank Dr. Jones and the rest of the CCC team for doing so much to make all of our feline patients feel safe and well cared for. You're probably wondering who that handsome black cat is. That's Tio. He belongs to relief technician, Tish.

Well done to Dr. Jones, Barb and everyone else at CCC!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have incredibly exciting news!🎉

Yesterday we had our AAHA renewal evaluation and we passed with flying colors! What does that mean? That we have once again passed over 900 standards of pet care - something that only 12-15% of veterinary practices in North America can claim.

Our assistant hospital manager, Caety, sent out an email to all employees last night congratulating them on the huge achievement, "Since 2003, AAHA accreditation has been a cornerstone of our hospital's identity, representing the highest standards in veterinary medicine and the expectations we uphold for ourselves—to provide exceptional care to every patient and every client, every single time. When Dr. Miele and Dr. Terry founded Princeton Animal Hospital & Carnegie Cat Clinic, their vision was to create something that stood apart from the rest. Pursuing AAHA accreditation was not just a goal—it was a commitment to continuous growth, excellence, and doing things the right way, even when it’s the hard way."

Next time you visit our practice or look at photos of our employees on social media, please notice the AAHA badge on the left sleeve of every single employee. We are proud of our AAHA accreditation and you should be pleased knowing that your pet's vet is AAHA accredited. Here's a 58 second video explaining a little bit more about what that means:

So congratulations to all of you have an AAHA accredited vet helping to care for your pet!🎉🌟🎉

🥵 With the summer heat, remember to check your pet's water bowl more frequently!

Pets can't sweat like humans. They cool down through panting and paw pad sweat, so staying hydrated in critical for regulating body temp.

Cats often don't drink as much as they should. Adding wet food to their diet helps and even adding water to their wet food gets more moisture into them. Many cats we know love their water fountains. Do you have tricks for enticing your cat to drink more water?

We have the most amazing cat for you today. Meet WINSTON! 💙🐱🤠

Winston is 4 1/2 years old and is a Siamese. We met Winston way back when he was just a little kitten. Winston had an urinary blockage when he was just 2 years old and so is now on a prescription urinary diet for life. This is an excellent time to remind all cat parents, but especially parents of young male cats to watch their urinations carefully and call us immediately if you see your cat making frequent trips to the litter box, straining or vocalizing in the litter box. Urinary blockages are life-threatening.

OK. Now back to what an amazing cat Winston is!🥰 Here's what Winston's dad had to say:

"Winston likes to go for walks around the neighborhood in his buggy and talk with all the dogs that are out for their walk. He loves everybody and everything animal.

He loves water and will always take a drink from a running faucet or hop into the bathtub before it gets too deep.

He is very smart and likes to open all the doors in the house.

Winston’s favorite toy is a stuffed dog named “dog”. He must have him in the same room with him at all times.

He will always meet people at the front door when they arrive and roll on his back for a belly rub.

He also likes to dress up like a cowboy on special occasions.

I know you didn’t ask for more photos, and I am sorry, but I am a very proud cat dad." Winston and his dad are our kind of people! We love Winston's outsized personality and his dad's pride in him.

Please say hi to Winston and then enjoy the rest of your FRIDAY!😊

Cats may rule the indoors, but summer heat can still pose risks, especially in stuffy rooms or sun-soaked window sills. Make sure your cat has:

* Access to fresh, cool water
* A shady spot away from direct sunlight
* A breezy space (fans or A/C help!)

WOOHOO! Today is your lucky day!!!🎉🌟✨

Meet Walnut (black and white, male) and Pistachio (black, female). They just turned 12 weeks and they are ready to be adopted!!🎉

Our client raised the Mixed Nut litter from birth and took care of their mom until the kittens were weaned and their mama could be spayed and released. You can visit her Instagram account to watch the whole process from the time the kittens were born at . Our client is heavily involved with the Bordentown City Cats and they do so much good for the homeless cats of Bordentown.

Here's what our client had to say about these two cuties:

"Wally doesn’t like being picked up, but loves climbing into your lap- and will fight his sisters to have it all to himself. Wally is very handsome. He has the cutest black circle “goatee” on his chin and has a very shiny coat and spectacular whiskers.

Pistachio is petite, but tenacious. She doesn’t back down from a challenge, even when her much bigger brother insists on wrestling. She loves being carried around because she likes looking at things and exploring. Pistachio is also terrific about taking medicine- even yucky tasting ones.

They’re have had 2 FVRCP vaccines so far, have been dewormed (several times- it’s been fun). They will be neutered/spayed, rabies vaccinated, snap tested for FIV/FeLV, and microchipped before going home with their adopter. Their mom tested Negative for FIV and FeLV. Interested folks should email BCC at [email protected]."

These sweet kittens come as a package deal! If you are interested you can reach out to City Cats , email Bordentown City Cats at [email protected], or meet them in person on Saturday at a pop up Cat Cafe in Bordentown (visit their Facebook account for more details Bordentown City Cats).

Please share this post with anyone who might be interested in adopting two adorable, friendly, healthy kittens!!😊

You have been very good sports recently. Because of the long, holiday weekend, we posted lots of anxiety, 4th of July posts, then lots of comics over the weekend and we topped it all off with a post about testing f***l samples when we all know that you come here for are the CATS! Well, today, since you've been so patient, we have TWO cats for you and not ordinary cats. We have TWO OCICATS!🎉🌟🎉

Meet Phineas and Ferb!💙🎉💙 Phineas and Ferb are each 12 years old and are brand new friends of ours... and we couldn't be more thrilled. Because they are such new friends, we're going to let their mom tell you about them, "They are Ocicats, a rare breed. Born in April 2013, they are biological cousins. Phineas is a chocolate silver classic and Ferb is an onyx silver spotted. Phineas is like a blonde California surfer dude, super friendly and always has something to say. Ferb is a bit more shy, super smart, sneaky and fast. He likes to play fetch with his human. Both are extremely affectionate and neither has ever scratched or bitten." Their mom also provided several photos of Phineas and Ferb so we hope you scroll through them.

We did just a bit of reading about Ocicats and learned that they make fantastic pets - they are known to be friendly, playful and affectionate and get along well with kids and other animals. We are thrilled that these boys are now part of our Princeton / Carnegie community and are honored that we get to be their vet!

Please say hi Phineas and Ferb and then enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!😊

Even healthy-looking pets can have hidden parasites like roundworms, hookworms, and giardia. Left untreated, parasites scan cause diarrhea, weight loss, and even be passed on to people. That's why we recommend routine f***l testing at every wellness visit for strictly indoor cats and twice a year for all pets who go outside.

This is another reminder to keep your pet, year round, on a flea/tick/heartworm preventative such as Simparica Trio (dogs) or Revolution Plus (cats) as they also help protect your pet from roundworm and hookworm infections.

Prevent problems before they start - test your pet's f***l sample today! You can drop off a sample at your convenience! 🐶💩🐱

And now enjoy the rest of your Monday! 😊
