Who needs fancy toys when you've got a box and some packing paper? 😹 These little recyclers are proving once again that one kitten's trash is another kitten's treasure! 🎁♻️

We’ll be bringing some of our playful fluffballs (and a few chill lap cats too!) to Petco on Louisiana Avenue for an adoption event on Saturday, August 2 from 12-2. We are participating in the ASPCA's Rescue Effect and will have WAIVED adoption fees for approved applicants! 🙀

Stay tuned this week as we feature the kitties who will be attending—trust us, you're gonna want to meet them. 💕🐾

Meet our newest spinoff: “Sister Wives: Cat Edition” 🐾
Two moms. A dozen wild children. None of them biologically related.
For the kittens out of quarantine, it’s full-on kitten daycare around here. These mamas didn’t give birth to most of these gremlins, but you’d never know it — they’ve teamed up, opened the all-you-can-eat milk bar, and are holding down the fort like champs.
If you need us, we’ll be over here watching the chaos unfold 🍿

The trailer is loaded and ready to roll out first thing tomorrow morning to bring supplies to flood victims in Kerrville ❤️

If you’ve got any last-minute donations, we’re doing one final pickup TONIGHT at **8:00 PM** in the **Super One parking lot (Bonin & Ambassador)**.

Needed items: kennels of any size, cat food, dog food, new bowls, cleaning supplies

Because of Brucey is teaming up for a transport of much-needed pet supplies to the flood victims in Kerrville, Texas. So many rescues and families and their animals have lost everything — and we want to help however we can. 💔🐾

🚨 Cuteness Alert: Kyle is looking for his person!

This is Kyle. Yes, his head is a little funny-shaped. Yes the freckles on his nose makes it always look dirty. Yes, his eyes are definitely a little... wide-set. And YES, he absolutely looks like he was mid-transformation into an alien when he hit the pause button. But let me tell you — this boy is PURE LOVE. 🛸💕

Kyle was found dumped in a box at Tractor Supply when he was just a day old. Wet, cold, and covered in fleas he was luckily scooped up and brought to us. He’s got big-time lover-boy energy. Wherever you are, that's where Kyle would like to be. He purrs nonstop, snuggles like it’s his job, and is basically a living, breathing heating pad with a motor. 🔊💓

He’s a lover, not a looker — but honestly? We think his "special" little face makes him even more adorable. He’s got the kind of personality that makes people go, “Okay fine, I guess I do need another kitten.”

Kyle has had all age-appropriate vaccines, flea prevention, and deworming. He’ll be ready to go home Thursday after he’s neutered! His adoption fee is $150.

This fluffy ginger heartthrob is 2.5 months old, slightly cross-eyed (adorably so), and 100% ready to steal your heart. Big John is sweet, curious, loves to play and is full of charm — the kind of kitten who makes you laugh just by being himself.

He’s had all his age-appropriate vaccines, is up to date on flea prevention, and will be ready to go home this Thursday 7/10 after his neuter appointment!

Big John is looking for a loving home where he can be spoiled, snuggled, and admired for the little character he is. 😉

Meet our magical Harry Potter bottle babies, named by our 12 year old youth ambassador, Linden. Abandoned at the Crowley shelter these lucky guys were saved from euthanasia at just around 12 days old thanks to one of our beloved vet partners. Now in their adorable “alien” phase, this tiny crew is casting spells on everyone they meet! 💫
🖤 Hermione – Our dark little trailblazer! Just like her namesake, she’s the first to do everything. Eats like a queen, uses the litter box like a pro, and keeps butt baths to a minimum.
🧡 Ginny – The sweetest ginger girl who lives for a good blow dry after bath time. Petite, pretty, and already spoiled 💁‍♀️
🧡 Fred – Bold and bustling with energy! Always on the go, climbing over everyone, and absolutely fearless.
🧡 George – Our fluffiest little lion. He’s got the loudest meow, the pickiest palate, and the most fabulous hair. Baby George is extra in all the best ways. 🦁

Cool, so do we. Like... a lot of it. 😅
At our rescue, ringworm is practically a rite of passage. These crusty little gremlins show up glowing under a blacklight, and while some places see it as a death sentence, we just break out the antifungal shampoo and get to work.
Fun fact: Ringworm is in the same fungal fam as athlete’s foot. So if you've ever had that delightful toe itch, congrats — you and our kittens share a fungal bond. 💅
Here’s the deal:
🐛 It’s not a worm.
🧼 It’s not scary.
🚿 It is contagious, but very treatable.
🛁 Our kittens are basically bath-time professionals (they’ve had more spa days than most people).

And most importantly, at Because of Brucey it's never a reason to die.

When they’re all healed up and fixed, they’ll be ready for forever homes.

In the meantime, ringworm-friendly fosters are always welcome — we provide everything.

💫 **Bonded Besties Looking for a Forever Home** 💫

Meet **Goddess** (black and white) and **Prawn** (apricot), two incredibly special girls who have come so far and are finally ready for their happy ending. 💕

These beautiful mamas were rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, but you’d never know it seeing them now. They’ve blossomed in foster care—spayed, vaccinated, and thriving.

✨ **Goddess** is confident and queenly—she walks into any room like she owns it (because she does).
✨ **Prawn** is still learning that people can be kind. She needs a little patience, a lot of love, and maybe a treat or two to help her feel safe.

These girls are **bonded** and must be adopted together. Goddess gives Prawn the confidence she needs to keep growing. They’re around 1 to 1.5 years old and looking for a calm, indoor home filled with love and routine.

They’ve survived the worst and are so ready for the best. Let’s get them the forever they deserve. 🏡
