We will be open and offering all adventures and encounters every Saturday and Sunday (Drive-Thru closes at 3:30pm).

Walk-thru, Museums, and some encounters will be available Wednesdays-Fridays. UTV Adventures will be available if booked in advance.

🎉Celebrating 10 years in the making…

Ten years ago today, the Aikman family purchased what was once known as Rockome Gardens, and what an incredible journey it has been since then! Over the years, this property has transformed into what you now know and love as Aikman Wildlife Adventure: a place where families can connect with wildlife, explore nature, and make unforgettable memories.

As we continue to grow and expand, we’re taking a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come. Enjoy these 'then vs. now' photos along with a few bonus shots from when we first opened and see just how much our park has evolved over the years! 📸

🚨Post regarding the Sika Deer caught near Gurnee, IL

As some may have already heard, we have a new addition at Aikman Wildlife! This male Sika Deer was roaming the streets around Gurnee after he escaped from his previous owner. Sika are an East Asian deer species, also called the Japanese Sika. Thanks to good samaritans, the Paris Deer Park was able to safely locate and capture this deer and transport him to us last week! Within minutes of arriving, he was eating his fresh hay and getting a drink of water.❤️

He is NOT viewable to the public yet. While he is adjusting well, he will be quarantined and monitored to make sure he remains healthy before we introduce him to our other deer. He is a little underweight and has some dental issues we will need to address. Please stay tuned for updates on this guy!

As for a name, we want to let YOU decide! We encourage everyone to comment ONE name they like and staff will pick the top three names to be voted on in a later post. We are looking for Illinois or Japanese inspired names!

Ziggy the zedonk was born at Aikman Wildlife in 2017 and has lived in our Drive-thru ever since! He usually spends his days chasing our UTVs and Wagon Adventures, and is known to be a snack monster!
