Hi! Petey here! I am a new resident at the Famous Fido Rescue Center! I arrived just 1.5 weeks ago when the people I thought were going to keep me safe, decided to tie me up to a pole on Irving Park Rd in the freezing rain, and drive away! Thank God the Angels from the Famous Fido Rescue Center came to my immediate aid and took me which Saved my Life! I am so very grateful, and praying I find a loving family that will charish me and keep me safe forever! That's what Gloria told me I deserve.

This beautiful big husky was left behind in an apartment and his person went and moved to Florida. He was howling in the apartment all alone!

We are now trying to work and find this guy a home.

We currently have no space in the center, but we are hoping that we can just transition him straight over to his new family! He is being watched over by a neighbor right now temporarily, but they cannot keep him long.

We would hate for him to end up in a shelter just before the holiday. It was already so cruel of his family to up and leave without him. Let's make sure no more sadness comes his way!

Please keep Morty in your thoughts as he is currently being rushed to the ER. He was fine at dinner time, but now he can’t get up, and can’t seem to move his head. We’re not sure what’s going on, but he’s going to need more than we can do for him here.

Morty has been Bowie’s rock since we said goodbye to Ziggy just a couple weeks ago, so we’re worried sick on multiple levels. On top of that, our emergency and specialty fund is bone dry. We were hoping things would stay calm until our big fundraiser next weekend, but it’s not to be. Morty needs this emergency care. Period.

We have no idea what Morty’s ER visit will bring, but if you able to help in any way - donations and good vibes sent Morty’s way - we could really use it right now. 🙏

We must be missing something here.... how is a cat as cute as Eva still waiting to be adopted? She has been here for 5 years and is now 7 years old!

This stunner came to our center when her guardian passed away. When we first met her, she was on the euthanasia list at an open-door shelter. Her life could have been very short - all because of overcrowding!

Eva is a very independent cat, and although she shares her room with other cats at the center, she prefers her alone time. With that being said, she also does not stir up trouble among the other felines. So, if you've ever felt that you wanted another cat, but weren't sure how yours would take - Eva would likely be a good addition. She has 5 years' experience of being around all sorts of purrrsonalities and never had an issue.

Doug and Sue have been waiting for years at our center to find a home. In that time, so many memories that could have been made with a loving family have been missed out on. No one has ever taken them for a pup cup at Starbucks or taken them for photos with Santa at Christmas time. No one has gotten to chase Doug around the house after he got stuck into something he should have. And no one has had Sue fall asleep in their lap after a Sunday spent mowing the lawn, when she was intrigued by the smell of the fresh cut grass on your pants. They are seniors now, and not much time is left to make these memories with them, but there is still some time...

We would love to find 8-year-old Doug, and 10-year-old Sue their forever home soon. They are a mother and son duo who came to our center when they landed on the euthanasia list at a kill shelter when overcrowding was an issue. They were left there when their guardian died and there were no family left to take them on.

Doug and Sue are anxious dogs, who really rely on each other for reassurance. Being picked up, or going for walks can make them especially nervous, so they will need a home with a yard, so they can play with the privacy they require to feel safe.

Macho and Spike are two senior boys who have been with us for two years. They were surrendered when their guardian went to live in a nursing home and their children didn't want the dogs. We have been searching desperately to find these boys their forever home and are considering applications to adopt them either separately or together.

Macho is Spike's son, and he is utterly obsessed with toys. He won't walk anywhere without one in his mouth, and if he happens to come across a bigger toy in his travels, he'll drop the small one and go straight for the bigger one.

Spike is takes a little more of a serious tone. He doesn't care to play with toys. But the one thing he is serious about is treats. He will sniff them out and protect them safely in his bed for future eating.

While Macho is okay with being picked up, Spike does have some arthritis that makes that uncomfortable for him. They'd absolutely love having a yard to get out and play in and smell all the smells!
