Another horse will forever join the herd in Linda's Pasture.
Cornelia came to us as a sheriff's case last month. She was bright, happy and gaining visible weight almost daily. 4 days ago she presented with colic like symptoms. We knew that with a heart murmur and long term starvation we were fighting an uphill battle but her perkiness had us all hopeful. She was eating until the moment she moved on to the meadow in the sky, always so glad the food was unlimited. Everyone at CHRN chipped in and made a huge effort for her, Dr King was out nightly and everyone took turns checking on her, making sure she had water and mash. I thank everyone for their help with her. Today she was only on her feet for less than 10 minutes and we couldn't manage her pain any longer. Her BFF Sargent Muffins was there with her all along. Sometimes we just get them too late, it's rare we can't get them to pull through. Still I wouldn't trade the last month of food and lovee for anything, and I know she wouldn't either.
