🎉🐾 BONGO HAS BEEN ADOPTED!! 🏡❤️
After spending over a year with us—and quite a bit of time waiting with another rescue before that—our sweet, gentle Bongo has finally found his forever home! 🎉 This 8-year-old black lab has been through so much, and we couldn’t be happier that he’s getting the love and cozy home he deserves. 🥰
📊 Did you know?
Black dogs are often overlooked in shelters and rescues. They can wait 4x longer than their lighter-colored friends to be adopted. And seniors? They’re passed by far too often despite being some of the most loving and loyal companions. 💔
But this weekend, Bongo beat the odds! 🖤✨ His patience has paid off, and he’s now ready to live out his golden years with a family who adores him.
Thank you to the beautiful family who said YES to Bongo, and thank you to everyone who shared, supported, and rooted for him! Your love makes happy endings like this possible 🐾❤️

Come meet Kingsley, our adorable Aussie Doodle who is looking for his forever home! He loves to play with a ball, has the funniest & cutest bunny hop when you scratch his butt, and has so much love to offer a family.

Professor Croix is back in action, doing what he does best… chillin in his office chair 😎. Pretty sure his butt didn’t leave this chair all day (except for his potty breaks and enrichment activities) 😅. This chair really brightened his day!

Professor Croix was one happy dog today! Here he is checking out his new office chair. Special thank you to Lee for bringing it by and brightening Croix’s day! 🥰

Professor Croix here is wondering if anyone has a used office chair they would like to donate to his room? You see, Croix LOVES laying curled up in an office chair, but his most recent chair was finally showing a little too much loved wear, so we had to say goodbye to it 😢. We’ve been searching yard sales for a replacement to no avail. So he asked us to put a post out and see if any of our local friends might have one collecting dust around the house 🥰.
Do you have Croix’s next office chair? Let us know! ❤️

Give a big Beachtown Dogs welcome to, Kingsley! A 7 year old Aussie Doodle who just made his way from Ohio for a 6 week board and train program. We will be working to identify and resolve some challenging attention seeking behaviors, anxiety related behaviors and their underlying causes.
Following the training program Kingsley will be transferring into Red String Rescue where he will be looking for a family to share his love and playful energy with. Kingsley has known wonderful love and devotion his whole life including the difficult choice that was made to surrender him and send him to us for the help they tried long and hard to provide. Sometimes we have to make hard choices out of love that others don't understand and Kingsley is the epitome of this.
We are grateful to be able to help Kingsley on his journey and know we are giving his family the peace of mind and comfort knowing he will be properly loved and cared for.
This boy has a super bright future ahead of him! And we are honored to help him get there.

It is with tears in our eyes, and a pain in our hearts, that we share the heartbreaking news about Bosley.
Yesterday’s follow up visit didn’t go as we hoped. Despite his seemingly positive physical changes, his lab work came back a bit worse than his previous labs.
We were able to see his radiographs which showed a large mass encompassing about 1/3 of his lung cavity space, with questionable masses around other organs, and possible fluid in his abdomen.
Being as anemic as he was, with some changes to his breathing, and still being in renal failure, our options were euthanasia or hospitalizing him for a week with constant fluids, medications, and labs to monitor his renal function. This one week of hospitalization would end up being around $5000 and offered no guarantee it would even help, and it wouldn’t change the mass in his chest.
As much as it broke our hearts, we made the decision to end any suffering he was experiencing. We will forever miss this little man and we are so blessed to have been able to give him the last 10 days in our home, surrounded by love and comfort. There’s solace in hearing the vet tell us we were making the most compassionate decision for him. We love you, Bosley ❤️
Thank you everyone for showing him (and us) so much love and support over the past couple of weeks. We wish we could be sharing happier news.

This little love bug has a recheck visit today to see how he’s doing now that it’s been a little over a week since he was diagnosed with lung cancer, renal failure & pancreatitis. Here’s Bosley rocking his new outfit & getting snuggles 🥰.
Please keep him in your thoughts today and send all the good healing vibes his way!
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us and sharing in the love for Bosley 🥰

Today we’re shining the spotlight on one of our longtime Sanctuary dogs, Aero.
When I was first introduced to Aero in June 2023, I could only interact with him from a distance, while he was secured in his room. Aero is a great dog, but his prior history has shown him to be slightly unpredictable with behavior that can change quickly. Because of that, we took our time getting him used to seeing me around. I kept saying that one day we will be able to interact in the yard together.
Fast forward a year, countless number of treats, and speaking positivity about what’s to come, the opportunity came and it went SO well! Now for the past 6-ish months, I’ve been working with him to navigate some of the obstacles in the yard. Things that he had no interest in before, and some that caused him a little uncertainty. Now he’s doing them on his own! Go Aero, go!
All of this to say, when you take the time to build trust and instill confidence in your dog, you can create some true magic and happiness.
Aero may forever be one of our Sanctuary dogs, but we’re okay with that 🥰

You heard it hear, folks! Bosley is saying he’s feeling pretty good today! He had some energy this morning and leapt off the raised garden bed 🤯. Then he had a more normal looking bowel movement which is a BIG positive from where he was at last week. He decided to try some cottage cheese with some hidden blueberries and he loved that. He also enjoyed some turkey meat. It’s nice to see his food options slowly grow.
Providing all continues to improve for him, we’ll be taking him to have his labs rechecked later this week. Keep that PAWsitive energy coming for Bosley! He’s feeling it and it’s helping!
Bosley is feeling decent enough to give Brandon 2 hugs tonight 🥰. These came out of the blue and it’s something Bosley hasn’t done since around Christmas 🥹. Thank you to everyone for reaching out and sharing in the love for Bo-Bo!

Bo-Bo is pretty fired up today and getting more vocal with each day 🥰.

Our Rescue Team is born!
We have finally taken the steps to become a formal dog rescue! As many of our friends and supporters know Brandon and All Terrain Canine has been taking in dogs for many years and helping them however we can. We work with their behavioral challenges, we nurse them back to health from poor conditions, we give them new life when hope seemed gone.
Despite not having been a formal rescue organization, we have worked hand in hand with numerous organizations to help more than 50 dogs in the last three years! Many of those dogs were surrendered directly to us because groups did not have the resources to take them on. In some other cases we have "acquired" dogs from other organizations that gave up on them. WE DON'T DO THAT. Whether someone else gives up on them, we find them in the woods emaciated and desperate for some love, or we see one in a shelter that needs out, we are there for them.
All Terrain Canine currently has 3 dogs in our foster and train program who are represented by rescue groups that have stuck it out while searching for homes for these special needs animals. We are proud to work with such dedicated organizations!
In addition to those dogs we have another 5 dogs with no representation or outside financial support. 2 of those 5 dogs are in sanctuary care with us and aren't suitable for standard adoption. One being a former bait dog and the other is low content wolf hybrid that is almost completely feral. We work diligently and tirelessly to provide them with a better quality of life. We have been there with them through thick and thin and we will continue to be there for them for life.
To accomplish our goals, we are partnering with another rescue for fiscal sponsorship allowing us to share their non-profit status til our own is approved and established. This means all support from our friends, allies, and community will be tax deductible!
We will be a voice for the voiceless! A shield for the defenseless! The sword that fights the injustice they suffer! And we will be the light that gives them warmth and shines hope into their hearts.
